That's an outstanding meal. Just the bread alone makes me hungry.

The wings look great, Tony. You were even nice enough to set out a plate for your pet rabbit.

The new 32" is already on the way and should arrive by the end of October. I was lucky enough to have someone cancel their order and I got to grab it. I asked Dennis for a 25% discount and he said that my jokes were so awful on this forum that he's charging me an extra 25%. Anyway, I'm happy to be back among the crew here and will post the obligatory unpacking photos as soon as I get it. Thanks again Dennis for the good service and being easy to work with! Oh yeah, I replace my previous puppy with the new one I have now in the profile.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I hope you are doing well these days.

Thanks for the kind words, Tyrus. My son getting the Komodo was a deal to encourage him to get healthier. I lost my other son to enlarged heart and complications and I wanted to motivate my other son to do something to get in shape. I know a food cooker doesn't sound like a good idea, but in this case it was. So that's how I was left without one.

Retirement is everything I wanted it to be. If anyone out there is thinking about working longer than they have to...don't. I was with AT&T for 37 years and although the job I had was pretty darn good, retirement beats it by a mile. Anyway, my new focus with a KK will be doing some pizza and bread baking. Butts and briskets are on the menu of course, but I'd like to try to perfect pizzas right now. I know that youngster MacKenzie is the local expert on bread so maybe she could throw some tips my way. I'll get out of the joke section now until I have another terrible one to tell. Take care, Tony

A lot of things have happened but lucky for all of you guys and gals, I won't bore you with it. The good news is that I'm in the process of ordering a 32 from Dennis as we speak. My other KK is at my son's house and I missed it so much I have to get another. Anyway, what's happening at your end? Retire yet or are you too young?

After hurricane Ira it was discovered that crows were getting killed by trucks...pickup trucks, 18 wheelers and even RVs. So in Louisiana style they formed a committee to study the issue. It was discovered that while a crow partakes in the delicacies of road kill, there's always a lookout crow on the side of the road or up in a tree to warn them of oncoming traffic. What they observed was that the lookout crow could say "caw caw" but he couldn't say "truck."

Thibodeaux: Where did you get that new truck, Boudreaux. Borudreaux: Well you know MaryLoo is sweet on me. She brought me to the woods in her truck and parked in the trees. She got out, ripped her clothes off, and said "Take what you want Boudreaux." So I took the truck Thibodeaux: Well you were smart to do that. Her clothes would have never fit you.

Thank you ckreef, I appreciate that.

I knew you show up sooner or later. I know you're retired now but I can't remember if you were last time I was on here. I gave my 21" to my oldest son in exchange for his promise to get in shape. I'll make it real short...my youngest son passed away at 31 years old. Enlarged heart, carrying to much weight, and had a horrible time sleeping. So that's why I gave an incentive to my oldest son. I only had two. I'm working with Dennis to get another smoker...maybe a 32 and maybe one like yours. Speaking of the old crew, is Ceramic Chef still on here? Anyway, nice to be back and see all the familiar faces. I hope to be on here a lot more sharing some of the worst jokes you ever heard. Take care, buddy.

Tony might still be working for a living. Or keeping his 6 foot distance from everyone.

Thank you, sir!

I had a family tragedy that kept me out of the loop for several years. I'm going to try to keep irritating you guys with bad jokes, especially Tony. Nice to see that you're still on here Mac and still freezing and cooking away. Take care.

Boudreaux and Thibideaux were doing some salt water fishing when a boat pulled up nearby. A guy is decked out in nice scuba gear and sits on the edge of the boat. He then falls into the water backwards and continues his dive. Boudreaux says "Hey Thibideaux, why do those divers fall backwards into the water?" Thibideaux says "Boy, you sure are dumb. If they went forward, they'd still be in the boat." Howdy people! Long time no see.

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'. The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?' The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'.

I have some starters that I bought at Academy. They work very well but I'm just using them now for the fun of it. Most of them are compressed sawdust held together with paraffin. They have a certain smell when burning but it does go away after a short while. Best to let the pit have lots of air while using them or they'll smolder for quite a while.

It reminds me of a place on Bourbon Street that always has a guy in drag by the door. The sign says "boys will be girls" And no Tony, I didn't go in.

If that was a "wife" that did it, I wouldn't mess with her. If she bent that latch, I'd say "OK, you can buy those shoes. Jesus!"

What's faster than the hair dryer trick? A $22 Wagner heat gun. No starter cubes, no nothing. Fill the coal basket, insert the nozzle of the heat gun in the middle of the pile. Turn it on and it'll light the lump in about a minute and a half. Low and slow? Light one spot. Higher heat cook? light 3 spots. I use it to light the lump every time and it's hasn't failed me. I added a $9.99 Harbor Freight heat gun to the team and it works great too although it's a little slower getting the job done. Royal Oak lump is still king here and I've used a few.

I'm leaving mine in...even though it dipped down to 61 degrees this morning.

That's what I've used since day one on my grills, Aussie. An open end 3/8 wrench fits the grill perfectly and you can easily remove whatever gunk is on them. It's really a poor man's Grill Floss, but it works.

A good source of smoke wood is someone selling firewood. You'll get much more for your buck than those bags of dried out smoke wood in the box stores. The guys around here will sell you a few logs/splits so you don't have to buy a whole rick. I can get red oak, pecan, hickory and cherry locally. Cherry being harder to find. But give your spouse/buddy/room mate/squeeze, a sample of your bbq and ask them what smoke wood they think you used. I'll bet they can't tell. Pecan is my go to wood because it compliments just about anything.
