  1. Hi @wilburpan, sorry for the late reply back here. I have been reading on the IPS forums and i get the feeling that BBCode will eventually phased out in favour of the newer style HTML editors. BBCode has been around for a decade or more, and it was around when WYSIWUG editors were in their infancy. Now HTML editors are the new kid on the block and seem to be where things are going. Apparently IPS wont be phasing it out in the new future but it will receive less and less work over time. Im not sure why they have taken out the viewing option you are referring to, so let me look through the forum settings and see if its an option i can just turn back on. Maybe have a quick read through the following thread: https://invisionpower.com/forums/topic/417407-ips-40-the-current-state-of-bbcode-and-its-future-is-bbcode-officially-abandoned/ If there is anything i can do to get it back i will for you guys. Will post back if i have any update. cheers.
  2. That is friggen awesome. Love it @DennisLinkletter. Sign me up too mate. Im keen for one of those. Is there much tweaking to do until you begin some production of the units? Will it burn pieces of smoking wood or does it need some specific kind of wood/charcoal to be used in there? Would be nice to see a vid of you putting the wood/charcoal in there so we get an idea on how to use it.
  3. Hi all, fixed the issue on that forum. For some reason only Admins could reply in there. Really strange. But its all good now I've updated the permissions. Please test and report back if there are issues. cheers.
  4. Hi guys, @ckreef and @wilburpan you guys are spot on. For the announcements forum no-one has permission to reply accept Admins which is weird.. I did not change this so maybe @DennisLinkletter did, if he didnt then the board upgrade has probably highlighted an issue in the permissions. Since there has been posts there in the past, i will re-enable the permissions for people to reply. @DennisLinkletter Please let me know if you would like this change undone. Let me know if replying is now possible. cheers.
  5. Can you point me to the thread you are talking about and ill check it out.
  6. Hi @wilburpan not sure of all the advantages, but the main one is when people use multiple forums its all in the same app. i use Tapatalk on my portable devices and its a very handy add-on to the site. You can of course use the web view of the forum, it just gets a bit cumbersome to use for multiple forums. Also the notifications in the app are worth it for just that. Im not sure if there is a free app, but if you have not tested it out maybe give it a crack. You may like it.
  7. Hi All, Due to a big security hole thats recently been discovered in the latest IPS version, the IPS guys have posted an update to the forum software and i have completed the security patching of it today. There should be some general bug fixes included in this release as well but mainly its for the newly discovered security hole. Please post any feedback if anything is broken and we will get onto it right away. Cheers.
  8. Thanks for the feedback. Not sure what is the go with the notifications that you get when you have not replied to the posts, i may have to post on the tapatalk forums to see if others are having the same issue. @5698k Can you reply to other posts?
  9. Awesome thanks heaps @ckreef I have emailed them about the 4PM22 model and will see if they have one with an AU plug on it. Thanks mate.
  10. Hi All, Just an FYI that i have upgraded the sites Tapatalk to the latest maintenance release today. v1.2.1. I have not noticed any issues however if you do then please post them here. Cheers.
  11. How do you all balance your basket? I did 2 chickens on the weekend and thought i had it balanced, but it had a bit of a jump in the rotation. Do you guys use a counter weight? on my big purpose built spit, i have a huge counter weight should i require it. Im thinking i will need a weight on my 32" basket as the jump will just ware the motor out quite quickly. Right i see what you mean. Im not sure they sell those kind of motors over here. I just got one from the spit place. It wasnt cheap so i will be annoyed if i got the wrong one. Would you mind giving me an example of a motor that has those gears? ill then ask the mob i got my motor off. If all else fails i guess i need to get a counter weight for the basket? Thanks.

  13. Sweet thanks for the update guys. Also thanks for pointing that out MacKenzie. I hope that the tapatalk issues are fixed as there is not much config i can do to change things. Its up to IPS and Tapatalk to ensure things work properly, we get very little control over how things look and feel in the app. All we can do is keep up with the upgrade on both the IPS and Tapatalk side of things. Currently everything is 100% up to date. Cheers.
  14. Hi All, Just an FYI, i have renamed the site in the Tapatalk app from 'Dennis Linkletter' to 'Komodo Kamado'. This will affect all notifications coming from the site which should now be tagged as the sites name instead of Dennis's name. This should help to show the posts from the different forums and show the notifications that are from this site with the sites name. Just and FYI, but please post if you see any issues. Cheers.
  15. Thanks guys for the replies. Would i be right in saying that the mounting on the KK is of the universal type where it should fit all of the motors on the page i linked in the first post? Or do i have to watch out for mounts that are not universal on there? @ckreef Thanks for the heads up. Ill ring them and see what they say about that. @DennisLinkletter Forgot about the 30 day return policy But yeah excellent idea to try the smaller/cheaper unit and return if necessary. Cheers
  16. Hi All, Well i just realised that i dont have a motor for my 32" big bad spit basket. Was going to fire it up tomorrow, but yeah realised i need to get a motor. What size turning weight are you all buying? Im in Australia and have found this place online. http://www.bbqspitrotisseries.com.au/p/stainless-steel-bbq-spit-rotisserie-240v-motor-20k/MO013 What do you guys think about this motor? Will it fit my 32" or is it too big. Says in the description that it will fit 8mm square skewer. Is that the size we have on our BBQ's? This motor will turn 20Kgs, however the smaller ones will turn 10Kgs. Reading in the reviews, people are saying that this motor will allow the spit to turn at the same pace as it goes round and round. What are your thoughts? If anyone else in AU has any suggestions motors, id love to hear them. Cheers.
  17. wow that colour of the tiles looks awesome. Looks like its been lifted up on a deck of some sort. Great job of getting it into position. Looks killer sitting out there. Great to see you didnt waste the burn in process and get cooking on it right away
  18. Hi All, Came across this today. http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/eat/weve-discovered-the-secret-to-innout-burgers/news-story/537d0f08d4a8490dda2503b731c6c303 Ive never had one of their burgers, but it sure does look good in the pics. Does this recipe come close to the original? I think im going to have to try and re-create it
  19. hmm strange one. So you are getting notifications inside tapatalk for topics/threads you have not subscribed to? Doesn't seem to be happening to me. There is not much to change on the boards tapatalk plugin, but let me check on their forums to see if there is a fix to the issue. Anyone else having this issue?
  20. Congrats on the new KK mate. You will love it. I too was not able to run the burn in as quick as i wanted, so had to settle for a low and slow chicken the first night Remember to always post up lots of pics from your cooks
  21. awesome job, simple and looks great. gotta give this a try.
  22. Sweet thanks MacKenzie for the update. Glad to see its working for you now Ill try the same for me.
  23. Its maybe to do with this Charles. https://support.tapatalk.com/threads/two-problems-with-ipb-4-1-8-1.33233/ https://support.tapatalk.com/threads/have-to-inactivate-tapatalk-on-my-site-if-the-bugs-dont-get-fixed.32171/page-2#post-172511 Seems it could be to do with the new HTML 5 editing. Ill keep seeing if they fix the issues with the plugins or implement new features with IPB and if so will upgrade where necessary.
  24. Ive had another look over the tapatalk plugin settings and there is no option to describe what you are experiencing. There is not many options inside the plugin you can configure at all. We are on the latest version of the plugin. Ill have to post and reply to a few messages via tapatalk to see the error for myself. Is there a way to clear any cache in tapatalk app? could be a simple fix like that.
  25. Hmm strange one Mac. I see this from time to time as well. Ill see if i can dig into some logs and work out whats going on. Have you tried a different web browser? I am using chrome and firefox, maybe see if a different browser helps. If it does id say clear the cache in the current browser you have. Cheers.
