  1. I was just thinking about you the other day wondering what adventures you must be on. I'm sorry to hear of your losses. It was so good of you to be with your buddies in their times of greatest need. Hope you post some delicious cooks soon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Now that I know that I can get ahold of corned beef points for pretty cheap, I was thinking of smoking some this weekend. I'm wondering if the curing process will change anything about the cook? Plus I have never done just a point before so I'm unsure on what time to plan on. I'm thinking I will just start it earlier than I think I need too!
  3. Not sure I'd want a gold cover donut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Oh ok, I was imagining this was prepared at the store! I can only get frozen precooked crab. Is that what she used? And if so how long did she boil it to reheat it? Seems like it could overcook easily since it had already been cooked once.
  5. Well we did eat it all. Something has to be pretty bad to not be eaten in my household lol!!
  6. The sandwich was alright. It's kind of nice to mess up every once in a while though. Keeps me in check lol
  7. The flavor was pretty good, it just wasn't as moist or tender as I am used to.
  8. It was pretty alright. I'm a big fan of pulled pork these days so I am used to it turning out significantly better. The packaging was deceptive. They were not all the way cut apart (maybe like 3/4ths). I've done sections from this same cut before but it was twice the weight (4 lbs). I will not be buying from the prepackaged section at that store again (there was an insane line at the meat counter). Ah well, you live you learn.
  9. You have this available at your grocery store????? I'm so jealous Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So there were a couple of reasons that I failed at this pork cook. One was that I bought it thinking it was one piece. When I got it home the pork butt was actually cut into 4 pieces barely held together like a fan. It weight about 8 lbs. so I figured I'd finish splitting up the pieces and then account for a 2 lb pork butt cook time and put it on for about 5 hours or so. a couple hours in and I could tell they weren't cooking fast enough so I moved them closer to the dome by placing them on the upper rack and put some neck bones I had picked up under them (these were small pieces) Over all it turned out ok (I'm so not used to this but that's what happens when you think you've got something down) I think the neck meat was a little intense on its own. My husband preferred it in sandwich form. I will be sticking to butts. I feel like I have to redeem myself and I feel like a large piece definitely results in more moist meat.

  18. This post is what made me go out looking for pork neck. Unfortunately I only found pork neck bones which don't seem to have much meat on them. I'll find out how they are tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. I throughly enjoyed this. I will have to try your technique sometime. While I love my version of deep dish pizza I was fairly certain it wasn't authentic and this post confirmed that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
