I agree if the grill would allow you to use both gas and charcoal with the ceramics.... Garvin

Authentic Chicago Deep Dish...in Excruciating Detail
Garvinque replied to Pequod's topic in KK Cooking
Way to go HalfSmoke was just asking you about deep dish pans I now have a recipe to go with! Garvin -
When I first saw the Owner introduction video I wanted one so bad but I am so glad I didn't pull the trigger because it's more labor intensive than I wanted from a smoker! I still think its worth looking into if you like the idea of a stick burner that burns clean smoke ie smoke pot-(JS)! Garvin P.S. The song is by the Platters- Smoke gets in your eyes

Waffles for dinner heck yes with some Chicken! Was out of red pepper flakes so hot sauce had to do. Garvin

Ok made waffles for breakfast and I am having company for dinner so I will be doing the chicken and waffles tonight pictures of that will follow but for now the breakfast waffles! One thing I notice is I need a bigger and better waffle iron this is small in dia and for dinner will let cook just a little longer to get crisper than what I had for breakfast. Also I will add just a little more batter to the iron to get solid pockets, but taste was so good and if I do the few things mention above I should have a good dinner of Chicken and Waffles! Garvin

I started a thread about using milk and yogurt to make sourdough starter in that thread is my mom's recipe for the sourdough waffles the second recipe listed in that thread. You will make a traditional sourdough starter and from that you will pour off a half cup and feed that and let sit overnight using a cup of that to add to recipe. Traditional Starter 1 cup of all purpose, bread, or wheat flour, 1 cup of warm water mix well cover with plastic wrap, take a knife tip or fork a punch a few small holes in plastic. Let this sit out overnight, next day pour off half and feed a 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water to the remaining starter cover and let sit for a few hours once you start seeing a bubbles and liquid forming at top place in back of fidge feeding everyday or every other day doing the pour off half and feed the other half method. Garvin Susan no need to look for recipe for waffles here it is: 1/2 cup of All Purpose Flour 1 cup of sourdough sponge- this is the starter that you will have feed from your traditional starter you let sit overnight the above red highlighted area 1 1/2 tsp sugar 1/4 tsp salt 2 TBS of melted butter 1 egg slightly beaten 1/4 cup of buttermilk 1/4 tsp baking soda- add last after you mixed everything else. Enough for two regular size waffles, MacKenzie got two regular size waffles and a small one so maybe enough for the three of you, but can always double.

Coleman Stove- Need help please!
Garvinque replied to Garvinque's topic in Jokes, Ribbin' & Misc Banter!
Found out it was made between 1967 and 1970 model 425E, Charles can it be converted to propane? Garvin -
On my way to work this morning saw a three family garage sale for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and said I would stop over after work! I was hoping to get a stand mixer or something to help with my new baking interest, nothing on that front but came across this Coleman Stove for 25.00 and I said why not. It was in box but no instructions on how to assemble or if I had all parts the lady selling had no idea if it was complete. Also is it normal for the pipe that carries the fuel would cross the flame? Help me figure out if this is complete and maybe how old it is! Garvin

I was thinking the same thing-lol Garvin

So happy Mac that you liked them now I have to do some for Sunday's breakfast and I will let my mom know that you tried and like her sourdough waffles! Now Mac all you have to do is make some fried chicken and add a little heat to your syrup and you have Chicken and Waffles! Ok now I have to do that too! Garvin
