DennisLinkletter Posted July 4, 2022 Report Posted July 4, 2022 Just wanted to let you know that I'm back from my MUCH needed family holiday.. First time out of Indonesia since COVID started. DId four days in Paris, four days in Provence, four days in Venice and four days in Rome.. A great trip, my 16 year old daughter and wife's first time. Over booked the trip and ran myself ragged but lived. Produce was spectacular, but sadly most of the restaurant food was underwhelming.. I did not realize how good both the food in Bali and my house was.. Qatar airways was amazing and DOHA airport mind blowing.. the business class lounge was over 100,000 sq'. 11
braindoc Posted July 4, 2022 Report Posted July 4, 2022 Very jealous. Also sorry I didn’t know you would be going to Italy. Dining well in Venice requires a lot of research - maybe even more than buying a KK. I would have sent this link to a trip report I posted on Slow Europe. https://www.sloweurope.com/community/threads/venice-dining-october-2021.6124/ Maybe for next time! 1
David Chang Posted July 5, 2022 Report Posted July 5, 2022 better to go to venice before they charge entry fees. i think after living in asia, the food in europe is good, but a lot of it is just not good value.. yes, qatar business class is great (Qsuites!). DOH is awesome..
braindoc Posted July 5, 2022 Report Posted July 5, 2022 The entry fees go into effect in January 2023, 3 - 10 euros surge pricing depending on how many people are entering that day. The start date for this was originally this summer. It applies to day trippers, not visitors staying overnight - they already pay a tourist tax. 1
Wobster Posted July 28, 2022 Report Posted July 28, 2022 Awesome trip! Glad you and the family had some time to see and experience these great places!
