ChefJeff Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 My soul connection was with my grandmother versus my father. While my life changed after her passing, she continues to live in me. Sad times, angry times, frustrating times---they all gave way eventually to smiles as she comes to me in conscious thoughts, or even in my dreams. I'm not special. Your dad too will keep you company for all of your days. Tears for now---smiles to come.
LeadDog Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Dennis, sad news about your dad. Thanks for sharing the picture of you and him. It looks like both of you were having a great time that day.
rorkin Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 There is no better legacy for him than the man he raised.

Professor Salt Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 My condolences to everyone in your family. Your father had an inspiring outlook on life and mortality, and I'm glad that you shared that with us.
linuxwrangler Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Wait a minute. That Jack Linkletter?: http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0512942/ http://www.jacklinkletter.com/index.html You did have an interesting man to look up to. I can certainly relate. My dad died two years ago. Also of cancer. Was also preeminent in his field (rocket/missile control and guidance). Was also active in the community (school board president, chair of hospital board, chair of credit-union). And was also relentlessly curious and giving of advice till the end. He was also named Jack. My condolences to you and your family.
