I just finished eating my smashed cheese burger in time to post. :)

Started by grilling some bacon on my new Cabalas bacon rack. Cut the bacon in half for the burgers.

Next step is to do the smashed burgers-

Building the cheese smashed burger-

Slice some previously smoked cheddar cheese.

It would have been nice if I had remembered to put the bacon on the burger before I had eaten 3/4 of the burger :sad10:

The bacon rack worked very well, I did turn the rack 180 once during the cook but never touched the bacon. I don't think I even needed to do that one turn. The rack is heavy duty stainless steel and I liked the way it cooked very much. ;-)

All natural lighting for the bacon shots and the patties, the inside cheese and burger shots probably used a tripod except the last burger shot was with me sitting and the burger on a tray on my lap ;)

MacKenzie - wonderful shots of that whole cook!  Very nicely done.  There is precious little that beats a really good burger and your burgers are first rate!  I need to change out drool bibs.  Kudos!

I like that bacon rack, but I"ve found that if I just lay the bacon directly on the rack, everything works just fine.  SWMBOI likes it cooked like that, and if she likes it, that's what she gets!

Great burger cook!

I'm glad you like that Mundial. It's the best I've found for smashed burgers. Enjoy!

Got smashed burger down to 40 seconds on HOT castiron flat skillet - put on 5# last week.

Now cooking them  with no bun. Add peas on the side. Makes great little little lunch without the bread.

Sure glad I keep the hours I do.

Smashed Burger with swiss and a shot of mustard just went down good (6:56am) Oh yea the egg really topped it off.
