CeramicChef Posted August 3, 2015 Report Share Posted August 3, 2015 I've done everything from starter cubes, rubbing alcohol drenched cotton balls, cooking oil soaked paper towels, to MAPP torch. The first one stopped lighting, so I bought another, but kept both in service. I attached hose clamps to the middle of each wand, so they balance nicely on the KK rim, unattended. Pvt. Joker: Can you use weed burners to light KK lump for low & slow cooks? Helicopter gunner: It's easy. You just don't light them as much. This model is discontinued, but they still have some in stock. The price has doubled since I bought mine, so seek out cheaper versions. But beware, some with the built-in striker have reliability issues. Mine has done well so far. Just read the reviews (if any) before you buy!
