tinyfish Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 Here we go first of three cooks today. This is exactly like pepper stout beef except I use white wine instead of beer. Poochie Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 You knocked that one out of the park too. You're on a roll dude!
ckreef Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 Looks delicious. I've used beer and red wine before but never tried white wine. Excellent.
tinyfish Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 Looks delicious. I've used beer and red wine before but never tried white wine. Excellent. I never seem to have red wine when I make this recipe or thats what I would use first. I like the taste of beef stew with red wine so pulled beef with red wine should be just as good.
tomahawk66 Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Hey Tinyfish, what is the grey stone (is it stone?) container in this picture? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tinyfish Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 Hey Tinyfish, what is the grey stone (is it stone?) container in this picture? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Its some type of metal roasting pan probably for a turkey with a lid.
MacKenzie Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 I think it is an enameled roast pan. Everyone used to use them for roasting chickens, etc.
tony b Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 I grew up with those pans. Everybody had them. You didn't see a Thanksgiving turkey at anybody's house that didn't come out of one of those enamel pans!
tinyfish Posted October 2, 2015 Author Report Posted October 2, 2015 I rock it old school. Now I wonder where I got the pan from....maybe my mom gave me hers. We don't cook alot of turkeys.
PRippley Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 I have one that looks just like that in the big drawer under my oven, I think it has been there since time began!😉
MacKenzie Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 PJ, that is exactly where you find them, in that drawer.
tomahawk66 Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 I heard they breed in there over time... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PRippley Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 Uh, oh, I better look, there may be two in there now!
EGGARY Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 Nice idea using wine instead of beer. How was the taste using wine ? How about Red Wine ?
tinyfish Posted October 4, 2015 Author Report Posted October 4, 2015 Nice idea using wine instead of beer. How was the taste using wine ? How about Red Wine ? The first time I made it with wine I had no red wine so I used white wine. Red wine would be excellent just like making a beef stew with red wine. Wine gives the pulled beef more flavor then beer does in my opinion.
