  3. These will be shipped soon with two drill bits and some refractory patch. The Cold Smoker works fine in the Guru port but common sense would dictate the vapor would be more effective if released closer to the target. These are exactly two tiles in size and will be available in both the 25 and 28mm tile sizes.

  5. You sure are posting up a storm lately. After the first of the year I have a salad surprise for you and Dee. Some of the components comes from a store down at my sister's house in FL so it'll take me a bit to get it together. Should have done this when I was at her house for Thanksgiving.

  7. When I read your Post I was reminded of a friend who does NOT cook, trying to surprise his with with a birthday cake. They lived 30+ miles from the nearest grocery store out in the boonies to set the scene. He pulls out a box of cake mix when his wife is at work and tries to follow the directions. While he has the mixer in the batter the instructions said to beat until the batter was slightly stiff, so he lifts the beater out of the batter. Needless to say he is a typical guy and has the mixer going full speed, so when he lifts it the batter hits himself, the wall, the floor the ceiling and the stove. He panics because he realizes that most of the batter is on the walls and ceiling, and at that point he decides to drive into town to get another box of cake mix. Now the fun begins, the dog takes advantage of his leaving with all those treat spread about the kitchen. The dogs continues to wreck the kitchen in order to get every last morsel so when our hero returns to finish his mission of make a surprise cake he finds that not only does he have to make another cake, which he never completed in the first place, but he had to clean and restore the kitchen to its previous glory after the carnage that the dog left!! He begins the process all over again and this time remembers to not lift the madly spinning mixer from the batter. He gets the cake into a nicely greased pan and puts it into the oven. He is relieved that his mission is almost complete. He has the premade frosting at the ready, so he figures he can sit down on the couch and watch some football while the cake is baking and have a few cocktails while the process is merrily baking in the oven. He forgets one critical step, the oven timer.... When the smoke alarm jolted him into consciousness the cake was badly burned beyond redemption. Our hero had not purchased a backup box of cake mix so he leaves the house one last time to go get another box. He arrives home just in time to see watch his wife drive up as he is dumping the cake mix into the last bowl. Her first words when she came through the door were, "what the hell happened here". The moral of the story is never leave a long haul trucker in charge of baking a cake! SKREEF is the complete opposite of my trucker friend., she manages to persevere to true pain to please her sweetie. My hat is off to you!

  8. It's not the thickness but the density of the material.. The heat deflector is the same hot face material that the grills use. That being said, it does also need thickness to have the mass to be used as a heat sink and not cool off when you throw pies on it.

  12. As we futzed with this we realized that the tube does not have the tapered sleeve adapter to secure the smoker. We will do this with SS Allen head bolts of course. We can't make the tube larger because then we exceed the tile height. I'm going to make up one more 5 tile version with a tapered sleeve to play with also.

  17. It doesn't give dimensions, but I'm guessing that the top pizza wouldn't be any closer to the dome than the KK stone on the upper grate. It might even be a tad lower, if you had to place the stack on the lower grate to get the lid to close.

  18. Great meal sweetie. Very funny story about how she opened the cans using her left hand with a right handed can opener. Super effort that was greatly appreciated.

  24. Thanks, Steve and just look at what I saw out the kitchen window as I was getting breakfast. Shots are not the sharpest due to wicked wind blowing the feeder around but you get the idea. This goldfinch has it's feathers are all fluffed up. It was an extra windy and cold morning, -34C. Now here comes a male pheasant for breakfast. On Wed. a friend and I were having coffee in the sunroom and 8 of these showed up at the cracked corn dish. What a fun watch, they are so beautiful.

  27. It was another snow day here and the deck has been cleaned off. Time for lunch so let's roll the Little One up to the sliding glass door. Did the last of the hot Italian sausages. I will use one and the partial one in another batch of Quarter Hour Chili. This time I will have the sausage precooked and maybe with a little smoke flavour. Plated for lunch. Added some French's Onion Bits to the sausage roll and plate. I should add that tomorrow we are going to have one of the coldest days of the year. It is going to be -34C. It is awful early in the season for that, winter hasn't even started yet.
