  4. It definitely gives you the munchies. We're still talking about wood chunks in a cast iron Dutch oven, right??

  5. When one side of the house looks like this- It is great to have road side curb service. Veggie pizza ready for grill- olives, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Baked. The cooler in the background contain a pork loin curing to make Canadian Bacon for a friend. Ready to serve. Plated.

  6. Needed something special for this cheese burger to fit the occasion. These patties were so moist that I thought I'd better put them on the screen so they wouldn't fall through. Grilled and ready for the bun. Almost dressed. Add a little squash and we are good to go. Tastes just fine.:)

  7. Bacon and Shrimp stuffed sweet potatoes served with a mushroom risotto. Didn't go out of 2016 with a bang but not exactly a gong either. Let's call it a pop - LOL I like the concept and have another idea for this basic cook. Risotto was awesome. Pictures are sort of suckey.

  8. Hadn't done even a single pork butt in 2016, so started this last night and reaped the rewards today. Either my last cook of 2016 or first of 2017 depending on how you keep score. My son, whose kitchen skills are limited to reheating and toast, will be taking about half of this home with him tomorrow. Served with Reef's Vinegar Sauce, which I thought was excellent.

  9. Thanks, ck. Pretty well had the kitchen sink in the burger, ground beef, minced onions, garlic, tomato paste, fish sauce, whole grain mustard, an egg and pepper.

  13. Haven't posted in a while, but thought I'd do some pork shoulder for NYE today. 4kg picnic end shoulder, simple rub, oak and cherry wood, and ending up 20 hours at 235F. Rock solid temp control overnight from the KK - these picnic shoulders seem to take about 25% longer than the butts. Great flavour, nice and moist, plenty of leftovers for 2017. Photos are before, after and pulled. Happy New Year all!

  16. I don't remember how much I paid to have my cold smoker delivered but I live in Fremont which is in between Oakland and San Jose California. I don't think is really too much money

  17. He probably already has some in Carson City so the freight would be from Carson City to where you live

  19. I've done salmon (was the 1st thing that I did with it after it arrived last summer). Will be better now, since it's colder outside - true cold smoking!

  20. You will have fun with it. I did some smoked nuts for holiday parties (cashews and almonds) using the cold smoker - very nice. Been thinking about doing another batch of cheese.

  23. Dee and Aussie, strike it rich. Dee builds layer after layer for a potato/squash/bacon/cheese casserole then goes on to make an awesome veggie and boiled egg salad. Aussie throws some spices on the beef ribs, drops them into the KK and shrinks them. The result: A dinner fit for a Queen and King.
