  1. I'll take snappy of the packaging (which says: porterhouse).. Hmm kinda different ah well we call a beer a coldie and it still has the same great taste..
  2. Hi, I've just connected my EzQue rotisserie and found that the rotational direction is clockwise, which is the same direction to "unscrew" the basket. Is this a problem when using the rotisserie or should I just really TIGHTLY screw the plug into the rotisserie? Don't want to find my chooks dropped on the coals when it unscrews itself UPDATE: I started the cook and just tightened the basket connector. All is fine after 45 minutes of turning... ANOTHER UPDATE: WHen I checked the chookas at 1:15 the basket had stopped but the rotisserie motor was still turning You have to ensure the little rod doesn't slip out Anyway chooks in the end were still good (I reckon the walls radiate the heat nicely hence the chicken still being cooked properly) Photo's to follow
  3. Just BBQ-ed some porterhouse steaks... Simple onion powder, garlic granules, pepper, salt, olive oil I have to say that the steaks were excellent, juicy and really much better than the ones I previously cooked (on gassers etc). LOVE MY KK!!!
  4. I'm going to cook a couple of chooks using my rotisserie this weekend. Any tips on KK setup? I'm thinking about 350-400 for the duration of the cook and use the deflector stone on the lower grill (or is that not required??). 1 chook will be plain with just some salt/pepper and olive oil 1 chook will have a rub And for smoking I'm using mesquite chips (yeah yeah they just don't sell wood chunks down under..) Never managed to get decent crispy skin on my WSM so I'm expecting the KK to do its magic...
  5. Can we see photos of the bonfire???
  6. Great tip, but there's also something to be said for dismantling the crate with the crowbar......demolish Must be my inner child expressing itself!
  7. You tried kangaroo? don't like it myself....It's got a particular taste about it...
  8. I did the same thing with one of the ladies at the b-day party yesterday. She loved the look and would like to have one...Strangely enough the husband didn't jump at it and went yeah let's order one? Anyway after a sale D could get us some referral credits to spend on side tables, special grate cleaners, new pizza stones or whatever he comes up with next... I reckon a full cabinet for storing all the KK gadgets!!
  9. Re: nice pups One dog is a labradoodle (the bigger chocolate one) and the black smaller one is a spoodle...yeah I know they call them "designer dogs" but they're really good dogs....
  10. I used the BRITU rub.. jummy... without using the special woods that BRITU requires Still very tasty ribs..they all went...
  11. A lot of ducks sold here are "peking ducks" i.e. heavy on the fat and emphasis on the skin; there is a breed called muscovy ducks. Do they sell muscovy ducks in the states? This breed has a lot more meat, you can get it at the monthly Organic Market - Darling Harbour here in Sydney!
  12. Yeah yeah ... that would really make it indonesian!
  13. My first cook... Just some ribs on the barbie... Only had to use 1 grill for 4 ribs amazing.... The doggies were waiting for some food as well.. Finished product... delish! More to follow...(too much beer)

  16. Lump, Aussie Blue will never be fed briquettes The smell is gone now.. (3 1/2 hours so far). I guess the evidence will be in the final ribs taste....
  17. Thanks for you super tips that solved it I'm cooking pork ribs since they're easy peasy and yep I removed the plastic since I found that the rub falls off the plastic to easily!! I added some more wood and the smell is diminished.. Will let you know if the plastic smell added its own flavour
  18. Hi I have started my first cook (yeah deej it took 3 days) However I'm noticing a distinct burnt plastic smell?? What could it be I definitely removed ALL the packaging and plastic straps? Some plastic got into the charcoal or is this usual???
