    top grill

Depends on how you measure: To the "top" of the 2-piece firebox 22cm (8.66141 Inches) or To the "top" of the charcoal basket 27cm (10.6299 Inches) Ummm, didn't realize that you should fill it up to the top of the edge of the firebox...(I borrowed firemonkey's picture) The correct answer in that case is 8.66141 inches... I didn't measure it with the extra grill on top....
  8. Naaah, on my way out for dinner and tomorrow night I'm installing a PC at a friend of my wife's place and on Saturday we are going to the 07/07/07 concert here in Sydney.. No cooking pictures until this Sunday YEAH IT HURTS She's having her birthday bash so I'm likely going to turn all three BBQ's with the main meal coming of Aussie Blue!! However me and my mates managed to get it onto the deck and here's a picture in it's likely final place..(it gets dark here too soon because of winter )
  9. Here's the Kitty Hawk I was talking about... Includes more men and their flying machines!
  10. Hey Homer, keep your eye on the job though!! Otherwise there is no way we can compete (I didn't know we were competing ) with the KK gadget man.
  11. No no' date=' this is our Ozzie's FIRST one! He's been ever so calmly waiting... I think he might pop! [/quote'] Today is worse because I'm arranging for my mates to show up AND keeping them away from the beer before tackling the job! I'll be calm when it's cooking!!
  12. Dang this info would have come in handy yesterday.. However ripping the crate apart was very satisfying and felt like christmas time (which was followed by unwrapping all the goodies (photo's to follow).
  13. Re: Happy 4th of July! Happy Fourth of July you guys (from down-under) We have the Kitty Hawk arriving here.. so should be lots of your fellow countrymen in Sydney for the next few days!!
  14. Thanks look forward to copying the final version (or I might send you a PM and offer some cash for another SS version; you might become another Dennis but re gadgets...)
  15. Although my KK is not in it's final location yet.... Here are some photo's of it's arrival!! Aussie Blue on the truck Aussie Blue and the driveway it has to be pushed along on... Aussie Blue waiting to be unloaded Aussie Blue waiting in the garage (sturdy crate & quality crate) Couldn't wait (and the trucky went: "open it open it") As good as it gets before I move it to the deck.. Oh yeah...Someone asked in another post about the crowbar... More photo's to follow (hopefully tomorrow after I get some mates in to help me lift the beast).
  16. Re: A little Tweaking You mentioned it in another post (and hence the cover) how wide is the space between the bars in the basket? Does a fair amount of charcoal fall through or??
  17. Nah, don't buy that... just skip the green stuff and other meal components and have the whokle steak + lotsabeer... happy days!!
  18. Re: Raising The Steaks! What's the go with the foil? Just for when you put the rub on right Oh yeah how come you didn't eat that by yourself? looks like it's under a kilo so ...
  19. Will the cover (copper?) be able to handle the heat from the initial gas start-up and from a sustained charcoal burn (above it?) Or do you remove the gas burner after start-up (minus lazy-brotherhood points if you do )
  20. Nice grill marks... So you're no longer searing.......resting......finish cooking your steaks??
