  1. The Guru rocks bud! The Procom is the one I have and love it. Yeah, yeah the KK can do just fine on it's own, but it is even better when you can remotely monitor and control it! Go for it! -=Jasen=- But is it worth the extra moula? I've got the competitor and couldn't see any reason to buy the remote version (and I didn't have the money ). Competitor was worth every cent used with my WSM not sure yet if required for long cooks go on the KK. But you buy a LOT of piece of mind with the guru!! With the KK you need the inducer tube (no door adaptor) and most people get the 10cfm fan...
  2. We call it steak and 3 veg. I call it steak and eggs...jummy! Will shoot some photo's next time I cook my steak and eggs....hmm Oh yeah how many eggs you reckon you need on the one steak?
  3. Re: Guava Well' date=' I showed my butts. Neither of you showed yer shafts. [/quote'] I'll show you Tony's (on the right)
  4. Re: Guava What nobody says anything about this and me and DJ are innocently discussing some shaft lenghts and we get called on it

    Anniversary

Happy anniversary and many more to come!
  7. They replaced the hose for a new one and said they would order in a stainless steel one that I could replace it with (supposed to withstand high temps!) She'll be right in a few days, hopefully before I go on holidays...
  8. Yawn..just got up. Thanks Sanny for researching and answering. Yup sugar soap is a brand and cleaning agent in one! Great stuff
  9. Re: named Great name is there a Basil to? (don't mention the war!)
  10. We have a colony af about 100 cockatoos in the reserve backing onto out backyard. After about 9 years we don't notice the ecreeching int the morning or evenings anymore but visitors do!!! Anyway most of our neigbours consider the to be big white peste since they tend to demolish our wooden handrails (notice the beek on those buggers!) I don't mind them as long as you don't feed them they tend to stay away from your railings I find...
  11. Re: Porterhouse??? Although a fried egg on a burger is surprisingly tasty Ya reckon that was a british invention? I thought it was a kiwi one?
  12. Thanks Deej, working on the weekend...scary I'll see if I can get something in between to dissipate the heat a bit more...
  13. Good question..here's a question: What valve???? Whats you see is what I got I just bought the convertor (last section before the hose) so I could connect the burner to a standard aussie gas hose. I will look at your pictures to see if there's enough detail to see the difference. After I go back to the shop there's always the method of removing the gas burner (not my preference though!)
  14. Here's the evidence: Just clarifying the hose was purchased from a local gas specialist and should have been okay (i.e not supplied by KK; Dennis always provides quality goods ). I'll go back there later this week and either ask for a replacement hose or one that can withstand slightly higher temps???
  15. Re: Porterhouse??? Yup otherwise you would have "half" of your porterhouse also and wouldn't even have known!!
  16. Re: Porterhouse??? And since we're an ex-convict colony. crazy poms!
  17. Hey Deej, do you leave the gas burner "in" the KK when you BBQ? I left mine in and this morning I discovered a little surprise...It melted the rubber gas hose right off at the connection ! (yeah yeah I can make a photo of the sucker). I didn't do a very high temp cook only reached about 400 for the chooks PS I'm contemplating going of on another rampage
  18. Re: Great lookin birds! Soaked them in hot water /added sugar soap (laundry sink) for an hour and all the gunk came off easily. Still took me about 15 minutes to clean (since I took all the clamps and screws off (first cook still in the protective phase)) . Was a LOT easier than I thought it would be since all the grease and smoke stains came off just like that It looks like new again
  19. Re: Great lookin birds! Rotis is very easy to "set-up" you just remove the two grills and slot it in the holes on either side (had to slightly file down one shaft since it didn't fit in the hole) really a 3-second job. Don't know about the cleaning I've soaked it overnight in the laundry sink too lazy to clean it straight away but some work for me today I reckon... I think the result of the rotis chicken was excellent but can't compare since I haven't cook chook on the grill yet...
  20. Re: Rotisserie direction Vindication woohoo I'm not going completely mad, Deej how long is your motor-socket shaft now?
  21. Oops I hoped this little indescretion would not have made the net. Did you notice my fake name "Don't push me cause I'm close to the edge!!!"
  22. Spoodle: Spaniel + Poodle One is with a miniature one with a medium. The ones bred with standard poodles are huge!! As far as I know they're all "test-tube"/IVF dogs... Yeah I can imagine a labrador and a toy poodle having a romatic interlude
  23. I need a cabinet too... Hey D what with all the wood you have for your flooring company any chance of a KK cabinet being built? PS Don't let DJ harrass you about the side tables ...diversify diversify!
  24. Did some chooks on the rotisserie... Yeah should've taken one at the start (now its obscured by the smoke ah well) And I forgot to take a picture of the whole chooks Anyway cut up they look like this: They were very good, 1 chook had just pepper, salt, garlic and olive oil. The other one had a "mesquite" rub.... Both were tasty and had crispy skin!! Success on the KK again... Thanks PC for the "ramp" suggestion; and yes I have a guru
  25. Welcome to the forum Good choice to buy a KK and those ribs look delicious!! Keep those photo's coming!
