I thought I would get this thread started. I have a turkey brining in Jiarby's Orange Ginger Brine to cook tomorrow. The aroma of the brine is incredible Glenn.

I can see the confusion. Some companies sell the basic package grill and everything extra. These cookers are sold as packages....and I don't recall ever seeing any repair parts requests before, except for some of the kamados. I know there have been freight damaged units, but I think the repairs and parts are usually handled by direct email to Dennis. However Dennis might need to develop something when he returns as I think he has gotten numerous requests for parts for the Kamados....and freight damage will probably recur. I personally am getting a new lump basket from Dennis for my brother-in-laws K7

Firemonkey....I believe you can get the Corning pieces at Target, WalMart, etc for an even greater savings than PotteryBarn. Sometimes the cooking stores in outlet malls have them even cheaper. But if looks are important, the soapstone pots are beautiful. A soapstone cooker would be incredible.

So was it your hand that threw the phone for Crowe in the hotel? I think that happened in New York didn't it?

Fast Freddie, Curly has a freight damaged unit, but I think it only needed tiles. I have seen a few freight mishaps offered, but not many. Best to email Dennis, but he may not be able to answer this week. Most times he is quite responsive, but he lost his dad this week. DJ (the forum police) is very familiar with the units and he might be able to help if he is not too busy re-locating my posts. Syzygies....I thought you were an east coast guy

So Syzygies' hand is more beautiful than his mind! I can see where he'd have difficulty finding more work as a mathematicians' hand/stunt double. Keeping that hand in shape must take a lot of exercise. I imagine he had to read for the part....who did he beat out! The hand double for Good Will Hunting?

Merry Christmas to you as well Sanny and the rest of the forum. I did filet and chicken for a party last night (imaginary since I don't have pics). Christmas cooking is a turkey with Jiarby's brine....my first attempt. I have not been a fan of turkey in the past, but this brine has made me salivate.

Some of these non-production type porks are gaining a lot of poularity, but they are a little pricey. Primeats....i'm sure you are familiar with what I am talking about. I saw an article that some of the trendy restaurants are starting to include more pork on their menu from these lines. Supposed to be more like old time pork....bigger and not as lean I think.

Wow....I could almost taste those....spectacular. Ribs are one of my dads' favorites as well. I have never brined ribs before, but I will have to try that. He will forever be in your heart no doubt.

Welcome Sonofdon....great post and we will enjoy hearing of the competitions. What a great father/son activity. I might point out that I read on one of these forums about someone that forgot to screw down the damper top and several tiles broke when they transported it.

LeadDog...when I stop by and pick up some of that wine you might include a tandoori chicken with it. Do you have drive through service?

Several years ago when kiwi were not that common, I had purchased a few at the grocery store and the check-out guy asked me if I liked them because the outside was so hard to eat it made him choke! We had kiwi farms bordering our farm, and they pruned them hard every year. The trellis structures they would put in were very stout. Then when these guys can't make any money at it, they abandon those plantings and after a couple of years it looks like a jungle. Sanny...since I know you love the color blue, may I suggest a plumbego in place of the kiwi. It will not produce fruit, but it will produce a beautiful little blue flower most of the year. Mine are still flowering quite nicely. I will email pic if you want. Deej hasn't had to move or warn us of being off-topic for a few days now. But oh....let me tie it to BBQ....the kiwi wood will make good smoke wood Sanny!
