It has been popular here in Calif for a few years. Black Angus used to feature it on their menu for $8 or $9 and it was a steal. Then the cut started getting popular and they removed it from the menu.
My first time with it was a very memorable meal. It was cooked to perfection and served sliced around a mound of black truffle risotto. It was a Sat nite special at a local restaurant, and I have seen never that restaurant feature it again.
When I purchased it at a local grocery store, I did not care for their version of the cut. They cut it too thin and small.
