Unfortunately no leather seats. And even worse, push button ignition but no remote start (almost a deal breaker). That was a new 2018 still on the lot. They wanted it gone. A good deal with a bunch of factory cash back. A decent down payment. Fortunately I have good credit so I got my own financing. Without all that I would have never been able to afford it. I am having a blast learning the grill. Will try out the grates hopefully tomorrow (weather permitting).

A great Grill Grates - LOL
-
I know you didn't think I was talking about a nice house or piece of property. Grill Grates makes my NuKe Delta a really nice piece of grilling real estate. Custom cut to length they fit perfectly. The way I configured them you can go full Grill Grates or 1/2 Grill Grates and 1/2 regular grate depending on what I want to cook.

Great looking cook. Rotisserie is where the Meater really excels.

This is sort of kewl. Years ago I requested (and got approved) for a clear sky chart to be generated for my front yard. This is the current chart. Also if you're super geeky check out the link to read about these charts. Super useful for astrophotography. http://www.cleardarksky.com/c/CCK1GAkey.html?1

Here is my very first picture. Done with a standard telescope and a high end webcam. Took a video of saturn then used special software to convert it into a picture. After that i was hooked. Soon after saturn I did some major upgrades. Taught my son how to do all this years ago. At this point in his college career he couldn't care less. My son and a friend out by the telescope many years ago. It was remote controlled from inside the house. Much nicer on the colder nights. Here he is doing his thing. He actually had a good understanding of what was needed to produce a good astrophotography picture. Here is one of his better images. I could talk for hours about astrophotography.

LOL - Cake is one of my radio stations on Pandora. Great group.

I used to be into astrophotography big time. Have some really awesome pictures from that adventure. Hopefully when I retire years from now I can get into it again. BTW you can basically kiss that $4500 goodbye to get a reasonably decent setup (if you spend wisely). I think I was into it for about $10k.

Wings on the Konro with Heat Shield
ckreef replied to MacKenzie's topic in Jokes, Ribbin' & Misc Banter!
Looks delicious. I like your wind shield. -
That's a kewl product. I like it. There is just something different cooking with wood.

I've tried a few different versions of fried provolone over the last few days. I've come up with what I think is the ultimate version. Fried Provolone with sun dried tomatoes and Italian herbs. @MacKenzie do you recognize that small grate. I've found a few different uses for that grate.

You're just trying to take the fun out of what could be an awesome fish cook. Just Sayin.........

Any Central America or South America hardwood lump is hands down superior than any American Hardwood lump. South of the equator the trees are just more dense. Anything from Fogo is south of the equator plus free shipping in the lower 48. KJ lump is south of the equator. There are others. I'm done with RO and Cowboy. When you spend as much as we do for a kamado spending a few extra dollars on better lump is a very small drop in a large bucket. Coco char is the best for extra long low-n-slow. If you got some coffee lump from Dennis you are golden. When you run out look to Fogo.

I basically agree with everything @tony bhad to say on this subject. The little bit of advice I could add - defiantly spend the extra money for better grade lump. Anything from Fogo is a good bit better than any American Hardwood Lump. Initially it's a bit more pricey on the wallet but once you start factoring in burn time, it's really not that much more expensive. Definitely fill all the way up to just a smige below the fire basket handles. Whatever you don't use will snuff out and be waiting for you next cook. As for your temp problem for low-n-slow - If I had to guess you have vents too much open (you just can't imagine a fire burning with less oxygen). Top vent at 1/4 turn from closed (at the most) and the bottom vent set to a credit card width. I know it seems like a fire could never keep going with that little air flow but KK's are so efficient, yea they need almost no oxygen to maintain a low-n-slow temp. Charles

Good looking fish cook. You said stuffing. I thought crab which would have made 4lbs into 6lbs. I've never done a fish cook like that before but I'm going to try it.

The Aldi's where I live is the crap grocery store of all time. Now Fresh Market, that's an entirely different story. My wallet usually can't handle a trip to Fresh Market.

Yellow tail snapper about to go on the Nuke Delta. Yup whole fish, eyes looking at you and all.

Stubb's, Sweet Baby Ray's, Frank's Red Hot (not fond of it but most of America is), French's Fried onions (we use them for a lot of stuff), Grill Mates. They did a pretty good job with some American classics. P. S. Used some Bush Lamb last night
-
Heck Yea. You know I'm a fan of Grill Mates. McCormick sells a lot of spices world wide so I doubt it's leftover anything. I use Grill Mates individual packages on a regular basis. #AlittleJealous

Looks right at home where it's sitting. Congratulations.

I appreciate the invite but I'll probably pass. Besides even though I have a FB account I haven't been on it in years and will probably die never going on it again.
-
Bummer that's a closed group. Would have loved to read all that.

I'm guessing the cable was rated for way more than that grill weighs. Looks like a walk in the park. Hardest part looked like keeping the wire going back on the wrench nice and pretty. What I want to see is the video of it going up the ramp
-
Great looking KK. Nice pictures. The ramp looks a little scarey - LOL
-
Looks tasty. I have to ask - what is melting potatoes??
