Wal-Mart and Dillons, (Kroger) have up to 15 BS added. I did find "all Natural" nothing added at Wal-Mart at a higher price. Added my own enchancers grilled on my Weber. They were good. Dennis emailed me my OTB should be in the warehouse today. So I should have it next week. Will post pictures. DavidS

Grill design mod from forum feedback
DavidS replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in Indo Production Pics
Very Very nice. Like the handles on the side. Now your lower grill look like my old K grill, all the rods between the handle and rings came loose. I used a saw to get rid of junk. Yours is MUCH better. -
cruzmis Wecome to the club. I have a Deluxe OTB on order, should get it this month.
-
The K adapter is a plate that takes the place of the damper door. $30.00 let mine go when I sold my #7. Just waiting on my KK.
-
My old #7 with the three crack all the wall through the top kept the temp at close to 250 with the top damper down tight and draft door cracked about 1/8 inch. I would clean all old ash out and start with new lump on bottom old added in middle and full load on top. Now just glad it GONE and the OTB is getting closer. David

I use Firefox browser and the pictures do not show up, ImageShack is not supported or I am doing something wrong. Any help or answers? Thanks David

Great pictures and comments. I am waiting for my OTB should not be much longer, HOPE, HOPE. Will also post pictures when it arrives.

Diced garlic, onion, sausage cooked in butter. Stuffed into the hole where cabbage core was, then barbecue sauce poured on top of that, about a 1/3rd of a cup. Lump charcoal and hickory chunks medium heat for about 1 1/2 hrs. Turned out darn good. I put a can of beer along with some onion and garlic powder in the drip pan. Next time I will not do that. Nice and moist without.

Stuffed cabbage and a local sausage.

No. I spend way too much time with the forum pictures. Their are pictures of the same color of the Deluxe OTB I am waiting on.

Found this site while browsing. Shows pictures of peoples cookers. I didn't see any of a KK. http://www.ncre.biz/bbq4u/memberpits.html It would be nice to see some KK's posted, I don' have my OTB yet it is on the way.

That's good I sold mine for less than I wanted. But it ended a part of my 40 plus years of Q that was not a happy time great food but NO SUPPORT and alot of BS. Now a much shorter wait . My last rant on X-smokers. Just waiting on my OTB.

A lot of u-hauls or owner trailer have a tailgate that lowers to the ground. If it has expanded metal with large holes a piece of plywood and you can roll your K right up the ramp. Tie down with straps with rachets and let go on their way. Just me. Been there done that. Great that you have sold your old unit.

Very nice. I like the handles on the sides. You keep making very nice improvements. -
Porkchop and Curly great posts. I agree things are much better here and the customer service has been great. It builds trust.

I do spares cut down to St. Louis. Most of the time indirect at 250. If I do direct I cook on the upper grill at about 195.

Great post Dennis. That helps understand stainless steel a little better. Thanks

If you are picking it up at at truck line they should load it for you. You should take tiedowns so it doesn't move around the truck bed. Another thing you can rent trailer with drop down ramps that are low the ground. U_haul ones rent for about $25/day.

Good luck with your sale of the K. Your post is still on the other forum. Hell mine my posts were pulled for less, but I had the nerve to question the BS and lack of answers to calls and e-mail. My #7 sold pretty fast now just waiting for my new BETTER cooker a Deluxe OTB should be in Kansas end of June or the first part of July. Would it be weird if it came the same date I received the K, July 1 a few a years ago.

Thermometer question Thanks for the quick reply. That is a very good thermometer. I had replaced the one on my old K with one. If I would have know my would have sold as fast as it did I would not have drilled the hole in the replacement and installed the new thermometer. I would like the 150 to 750 on my OTB. Thanks DavidS
-
Just wonder if there is a place for a thermometer? The Polder tube could be used for a Polder or Guru probes but I have not seen anything about a a hole for a mounted thermometer. No big deal just wondering. Thanks David

Considering purchase - Is the Komodo appropriate
DavidS replied to espressodaily's topic in Komodo General
Just me but if you want it just for hot dogs and hamburgers use a gas or weber charcoal grill. I you want great ribs, butts, briskets, prime rib, pizza, bread, turkey, ect, ect, ect. go with the kk. an EX K owner.
