    K or KK

My $ worth I have had 2 K7's and 1KK OTB, will soon have a GenII OTB. The difference between the K & the KK are to numerous to state here. Just do some reading on this forum and the kamadofraud forum. You will not go wrong by spending the extra for a KK, most of the extras are included with the KK. You will also not have problems with customer service or communication with the KK company. A VERY HAPPY CAMPER with my KK.
  9. You may add me to the older than group 70.
  10. Welcome to the group. You will some be a HAPPY CAMPER. I too had a couple of the other companies cookers. You will be a lot happier with your KK.

  13. GregR is correct about Sweetmaria's also a great source for information about home roasting and equipment. Another good source is http://burmancoffee.com/.
  14. 2 racks baby backs, and pineapple for desert on my Weber
  15. I don't soak. I use large chunks, mainly apple and hickory wrapped in foil with a few small holes punched in the foil. Works well for me.
  16. [---now i have to learn how to down size my pics Irfanview is a very good program for changing the size of pictures.
  17. Welcome. When you get your KK you will be a VERY HAPPY CAMPER. That said by a two #7 posk former owner.
  18. Welcome to the group. Use lump or try the new KK coal coming in the future,(hope, hope). If you can get Royal Oak it is much better than Cowboy. Check The Naked Whiz site for the charcoal rating. Great site for information on cookers and recipes. Had both cooker, 2K's and about to get my second KK. Both cook great food but the KK is one great cooker.
  19. The Benzomatic torches work great. I use a T3000 from Wal-mart at about $31 also have the Harbor Freight one. Like the Benzomatic one is better. The cheap one does not seem to shut off and the bottles don't last long for me.

I got my kiln shelfs from a local pottery supply store. They a very strong. I just crank up the heat to clean them. Don't know about drilling holes in them. Might be easy when they a new/ Butt looks great nice job.

    Heat Diffuser

The kiln shelfs I use a round 15" they will take very high heat. Look the same size that came with my KK. Have used the same 2 since 2001. I Wish that I had saved a couple of the half shelfs where we stopped doing pottery.

Kiln shelfs work very well. You can get different sizes and half shelfs. I have been using them for years.
