Search function broke?
churchi replied to ckreef's topic in Forum Suggestions, Issues and Enhancements
Yep thats because all the links are using http:// instead of https:// like we want. http://komodokamadoforum.com/topic/9101-search-function-broke/?do=reactComment&comment=108883&reaction=3&csrfKey=feff5315d8dd0a25a4309c8a3fa09011 Thats an example there. Cache needs to be cleaned and a few other tweaks. Should have it back up and going shortly. -

Ok so an update, the issues are being caused by forced HTTPS on the site. I am working with the hosting company now to sort out the issues. Stand by for more updates. -

Hi All, Not sure whats the cause of the issues thats been posted about here, however there is a minor point release for the forum i will upgrade it to in the next 12 hours or so. Also a new skin version ill upgrade to as well. I hope those small updates will fix the issues, if not then we have a stable upgraded place to start debugging from. Stand by and ill post an update in the next 12 hours or so. -
Thanks for the confirmation @Tangles

Awesome mate, looks killer. Can smash out one of them every weekend Great sunda arvo feed. You running at around 250F or so naked the whole way?
-
All good @BonFire, i have cleaned up the doubles for you
-
@tony b, im having a look at it right now for you mate. Looks to be an issue with the skin. Will update back here once a new skin has been applied so people can test.
-
Awesome @Aussie Ora. What temp you let them ride at? Also do you put a deflector in or just use the foil under them like you can see in the pic.
-
Oh why am i only seeing this post now @Aussie Ora! haha. How have you been doing them sense? Have you had another go? I quite often do pork belly on the KK. I am doing one tonight in fact. Like you mentioned, cutting too deep through the skin will not work well for crackle. Cutting just enough is the trick. I am not so organised these days and dont get around to salting it the night before. I do however pour boiling hot water over the rind before i salt it before putting it onto the KK. The trick is to cook it enough, but not too much so the meat is ruined. Id much rather have a good cook on the meat than the best crackle you can cook with over cooked meat.

Nice one mate, the 32" is a weapon of a BBQ/Kamado!! you will love it.

No that looks like a good steak there @Aussie Ora. Nice job. I gotta try one of those myself

Is a Komodo Kamado Enough for All Your Grilling Needs?
churchi replied to tekobo's topic in KK Pre-Sales Questions
I am too a super early MEATER Block backer. Its been almost 2+ years or something like that when i backed them.... haha. It looks like they are slowly getting their act together, so fingers crossed we have it by Christmas. I have put off buying any other probes as it seems they are getting closer. I hope the product lives up to the expectation, as i hate probe cords. @tekobo, great thread here. Its been a good journey to this point, i cant wait to see what you end up getting and see some pics from the first few cooks. I love seeing things come together like they have for you both. I am one of those minority that do use the double bottom drip pan. I use it for my low and slow only. I find its super easy to use as a deflector and just sit the foil trays on top of it. It fills the size of my 32 perfectly and saves me stuffing around with foil if i dont have the time. However if price is a concern, i would throw it into the optional basket over a few other options you have put on the to buy list. However if money is not a problem, i do find it useful. Definitely get the spit rod attachment. This is something i use all the time and like others said, its a really nice way to spin a chook. Great flavour when they are dripping over the coals I find.- 156 replies

Nice job on the skewers mate they look killer! Bet they tasted unreal.

To my knowledge @Mark from New Zealand, i dont believe there is a way to lock the stock wheels. Maybe you can make a few small wedges to wedge on both sides of the wheels to stop them moving? I have done that with mine just in case it decides to take off. I also dont think @DennisLinkletter sells an upgrade on the wheels to have a locking capability in them. Maybe because the KK's are quite heavy that the lock that could be put in them would not be strong enough to hold the weight of the KK should it decide to move.

killer job. they look fantastic!
-
Thats a heck of a good cook up. Id be happy with that for Easter. Nicely done.
-
Wow mate, that looks incredible? you cant beat a good steak cook up on the KK. Nicely done.

Wow, i just love the look of the 42" I cant wait to add that to my 32" one of these days or years. It would compliment my 32 so well. Ill have to reinforce the ground where i put it though... Killer lineup Dennis for the coming year.
