  1. Finally finished. Only 9 months after Dennis delivered h KK. Just a few minor finishes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Beautiful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. That must have been a tough day to stay at work. Worth throwing a sicky? Welcome terra. Be sure to post the unpacking..... and cooks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That pig looks great. I have no problems with my 23” cooking for a family of 4 and guests. I’m sure you will have no regrets Maybe a pork loin or butt will look just as good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Sweeet Antonio. Let’s see your cooks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Ben while you are investigating thermometer probes. Check out Smartfire. https://smartfirebbq.com I did the research 9 months ago and the wifi and Bluetooth connection appealed to me so I could duck down to the shops or attend kids sports for an afternoon mid cook and still get read. I had planned on getting this soon after the KK arrived, however, haven’t really need it yet as I gain confidence in understanding my temperature settings. I’ll probably buy one this month as our sports season is opening back up- rugby training starts tonight...... only 3 months late. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Wow, that garden exploded. I laughed at the swimming pool sized hole with 3 shovels and a grubber leaning in it. Who dug that out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Tony that rice dish would do me, I can smell it. Troble for this forward sear I followed Macs tips. Trimmed the fillet roll, rolled it in salt and ground peppers, then back in the fridge for a few hours to get it back to 1 deg c- that’s 34f. Mac will say 30 mins in the freezer. All this while the KK is heating up. Placed a lump of timber, then placed the lowest grill rack and the higher half rack. Place the meat on the lowest rack and seared the outside rolling it every few minutes. This took about 10- 15mins. Once seared enough, I lifted the meat to the top half rack with the probe in. By this time, internal temp had risen to about 15c- 60f. Drop the lid again and let it come to your preferred internal temp. Minimal to no resting required for this method as the meat rest while on the higher rack. KK was reading about 160c, 320f. You could do this with the basket splitter or the final stage indirect. I was cooking to a short timeline so kept the whole cook direct. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Great space Troble. I’m hunting stools now too. Also, need some soft comfort seating. This is tough to find soft seating robust enough for outdoors. Opting now for the good old bean bags. Your zones are totally different from day to night with that lighting change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Rib Eye fillets were on sale. Couldn’t help myself Rubbed in 3 peppers- purple, green and black with a little salt. That was forward seared straight from the fridge at 1c. Delicious salty pepper crust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Congrats Bryan. I’m looking forward now to seeing some of your cooks. It looks purpose built for that space. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. He makes that look so easy LK. Thanks for posting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Pretty sure it’s cedar Tyrus. It’s too soft to be teak. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yes Mac they will go on the fire pit seating ends. I’ve put an order in for another 8. They have far greater meaning, look personalised, and It also helps supplement her pension. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Looking good Tyrus. You filled that deck in a hurry.[emoji33] Have a look at the LED lighting options available. They are unreal- low consumption and huge output. We recently lit a footy field- 140m diameter with a bank of 8 LED lights spread over two poles. I must warn you though, looking at lights is a rabbit hole. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. And my mum made tiles arrived today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Tyrus here is my mascot. Kenny, God of Kamados. Kenny guards over cooks to ensure every meal is a winner! Actually we picked him up in Papua New Guinea 50 years ago. Fearsome looking dude eh? I’ll be keeping an eye out for his partner. Don’t want him getting lonely...... or angry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Tekobo these floor pavers are French limestone. And although they are close to white, they do not absorb stains- tested with bat poop, our worst night stainer. Hardwood shavings leach a stain that lasts about 1 week then it fades away. Archie( son) and Billie (dog) will hang around much longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You are eating well DJM. Troble I bought that sack of rye flour pre covid as I wanted to try baking rye bread. Couldn’t find it here in a smaller bag. I’ve definitely bitten off more than I can chew! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yes AJR, there is a small box inside that wall ( in the garden bed)with a separate line to each step and LED tape running under each step lip. An aluminium channel is glued in place and the LED tape has a sticky backing to secure it inside the channel. They are in small banks of 5 lights so if 1 goes out, it can be replaced easily. Troble not sure what the mascot will be. I’ll know when I see it. A tassie devil could work..... or the suspected extinct tassie tiger. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcSNuSWtCSkG5b9P9imvVcq_JA-lsm5ky11bM8sDFchSb60PmdLz&usqp=CAU More photos will be posted once the final clean up s done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thank you to all. The lights are now working, some minor cosmetic work remaining. Is everyone noticing how clear the skies are with less air traffic? Excellent winter fire weather here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Pizza night here with sourdough rye crust. Although they turned out well, I am finding The rye flour very difficult to handle. Much less gluten and therefore doesn’t bind easily. I have a 20kg bag in the cold room so will have to work through this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Looking forward to those photos tekobo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Tekobo you need to run this as a business. They look outstanding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Bards if you want good ribs, Aussie seems to nail them on a weekly basis...... for a long time. Maybe he can provide you with some tips? I feel your pain in upsetting neighbours with renovations and am sure your ribbed peace offering will smooth them over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
