  1. Re: Well... Dang straight! But since Dennis does not delete our posts here, we can just complain about him here Soon as they start dissappearing here, we can take up the cause over there.
  2. No, I'm old fashion...and tech unsavy...and cash poor...and like sitting on the porch and talking while the smoker smokes. But no, I don't sit up all night anymore...them days are gone.
  3. Are you cooking a roo?
  4. Way to go girl, maybe there was a real man in the bunch that caught yer eye huh? That other fella been vaporized, right
  5. Deej, I think you should create a backroom so you and Gerard can go and be alone
  6. Yeah, I think all the que joints that I've seen in the Carolina's use hickory also.
  7. Inacoma had just received his grill, and he was only filling the small charcoal ring that used to come with the lump basket. Those are no longer made because it so much easier to just fill the whole basket, and shut the grill down to same the leftovers. If you fill your basket to the top of the fire ring, you will have probably 6 times as much lump in there as if you only filled that small ring. I will confirm that my settings are pretty close to what Woodie and Fetzer have stated, those original airflow settings, if you had adequate lump amounts in the grill, would have resulted in meltdown temps. I was gonna as Paul if he had maybe only put a small amount of lump in there, my KK will also have the temp wrap around with those settings and a full load of lump. But, with a small amount of lump, it may be the case.
  8. Dennis, Tell him a great man once said, "The four stages of a man are infancy, childhood, adolescence and obsolescence." But it ain't true in his case. Get a good quote from him, because we all know that old people say the darnest things. Have a great trip.
  9. Dennis might make one without the base if you asked. The base is sort of a seperate piece that is bolted on and then tiled over with the rest...or textured over.
  10. Yep, and trust me...at 225 or so, and after it get's heat-soaked, it will last a lot longer. It's when you open it up that it starts to really use the fuel.
  11. Re: Building New Deck......plank spacing question I think the tires are rubber. My porch has the boards with maybe 1/4 inch between them and it was fine. Of corse, it ain't moving around much I pretty much have it where it will stay.
  12. Re: Hi from Florida Speaking of lump consumptiom, I loaded my KK up Friday night and started the fire about 8:30pm. I cooked 2 butts that were done by about 10:00am'ish and since the company was coming at 1:00pm Sat for the 4th of July lunch I just let it stay lit at the 200-250ish temp it was on. So we cooked burgers and dogs at 450ish and then I opened it up and forgot it for a hour or more to let all the grease burn off from the butts, thinking it would just burn the remaining fuel and start cooling down. So it burned full out for awhile, I didn't monitor the temp but know it gets up there when left open like that. But I ended up closing it down because it was remaining pretty high. Company left at about 6:00pm and the temp was still at 400 degrees, so I could have cooked different loaves of bread for 4 hours or so just on the heat still in the KK. I haven't looked to see if there's much lump left after all that, kinda doubt it, but I'd say you can almost pay for the KK on lump savings if you cook a lot
  13. The 6th grade science teacher, Mrs. Parks, asked her class, "Which human body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?" No one answered until little Mary stood up and said, "You should not be asking sixth graders a question like that! I'm going to tell my parents, and they will go and tell the principal, who will then fire you!" Mrs. Parks ignored her and asked the question again, "Which body part increases to 10 times its size when stimulated?" Little Mary's mouth fell open. Then she said to those around her, "Boy, is she going to get in big trouble!" The teacher continued to ignore her and said to the class, "Anybody?" Finally, Billy stood up, looked around nervously, and said, "The body part that increases 10 times its size when stimulated is the pupil of the eye." Mrs. Parks said, "Very good, Billy," then turned to Mary and continued. "As for you, young lady, I have three things to say: One, you have a dirty mind. Two, you didn't read your homework And three, one day you are going to be very, very disappointed.
  14. Prolly not made for ashes, but it seems to me it would get the majority out. Unless you are one of those folks that has to get every ash out.
  15. Hmmmm, have we seen the color of the outside of that grill yet
  16. That looks like a lot of fun. When I lived in Miami a friend took me up in a glider...that was a lot of fun, but the scenery didn't compare to what you have in that pic. It's really cool with the absolute silence except for the wind.

    July 4th

Well some friends came over today and we cooked hamburgers and dogs. And of course I had two butts that I put on last night so we had some que. I ended up not doing the ribs though. That's awright though, them 4 racks will b e a good lunch one day But me and the other dad took the kids down in the woods and found some turtles. Well mostly Chubby, that dog must be a turtle retriever or something, he digs them outta places, can smell them a mile away. Last week-end me and Katie took him down in the woods and we found 4 turtles, and we had some turtle races. We marked them with a number on thier back in finger nail polish and took them back to the creek about dark and let them go. We got no pics last week-end put it's been documented this time...so it did happen. Yeah, we love the races I also got no pics of the burgers and dogs...oh well. Here is little Katie, all 35 pounds of her, she loves those crunches. Here's a pile of que. Chubby got both bones and destroed them. See that little hand getting ready to make a grab. She's quick too Here are some pics of the turtle races. #23 won everything hands down, Put him down and he starts to run. #24 was good, but never won a race. #21 and #22 never even popped their head out. Here's a glimps before the race Here's #23, he's wanting to run Here's the line up. See #23, he's already got his head out.
  18. Yeah, those things are great. Unfortunately, Chubby destroyed (or ate) my last one. I found a small piece of it out on the ground near the garage.
  19. Keep your women folk inside til the Kittyhawk pulls out!
  20. You may never see another roo around your house now...they are scared of the KK you know
  21. Yeah, they are just butts cut up. And you see them some times for #3.98lb right beside the butts for $1.49 (or whatever the butts are selling for). I just buy the butts and cut them up. And I put these in my beans too....love them beans and ham dishes.
