  1. Fingers crossed! It should arrive sometime at the end of this week or early next (free shipping, but not PRIME).
  2. You will have to go Plan B on new Johnnyboy Jammies. We haven't heard from him in a very long time. I might have gotten one of the last ones he made and I've had mine for a good 5 years now. Dennis makes similar covers (sunbrella) for the KK now. I'm sure it would fit on the Mexi-K but might be a bit floppy in spots, given the difference in shape.
  3. BINGO! Open the top vent first to exhaust the combustible gasses. Never melted anything, but did singe the hair off my right arm on the old POSK once. Only other time I've done it was on a BGE at a friends house. That one was a near miss for sure. Wasn't it posted on the old POSK Forum? I remember he rigged it up with pulleys and rope to open the lid so he was at a safe distance when he filmed it. It was impressive! The Naked Whiz has a great post on it, too. http://www.nakedwhiz.com/flash.htm
  4. Welcome back, Sanny. We've missed you, too! Holy Cow, the old Mexi-K POSK is still working?? INCREDIBLE!
  5. Great minds, Aussie. Did burgers last night, too. My buddy came over to help with beermaking and I had asked him what could I make him for dinner and he said, "just a plain old cheeseburger." So, that's what he got. You're right MacKenzie, I have to admit that they were damned tasty. Plus, the weather here is finally turned over and we got to have dinner on the deck. Nice day, all around. @Aussie Ora Never seen beets on a burger before - pretty funky to me!
  6. OK, MacKenzie, I have you to blame. I just ordered the air fryer. Got the refurbished model on Amazon - $90. We'll see if it replaces my Fry Daddy.
  7. Sweet, MacKenzie. Love a great twice-baked spud!
  8. Inquiring minds like ours just have to ask - how do you get those small shells off the grill when they're done without tearing them up? The ravioli are bigger and shouldn't be a problem, provided they are oiled up, but something small enough to lodge between the grate rails is another matter.

    Easter Filet Mignon

Interesting sauce, for sure, especially the whipped cream part. I've seen a similar version of just the horseradish in whipped cream for prime rib before.

    Easter Filet Mignon

Filet with Bearnaise sauce - not exactly traditional Easter fare, but I'm good with it! Looks excellent.
  11. Noticed that you shipped them differently - mine was "economy" and Charles' was "standard." That might have something to do with it, perhaps?? Noticed that you included "signature on delivery," so we'll need to be home when it arrives. No problems for me, as I'm retired, but since both Reefs work, could be an issue??
  12. Cute puppy dogs! Grill's pretty nice, too!

    Easter Butt

Butt Rub is a classic. You're going to be happy with it.
  14. Classic, Aussie. Clicked on the link and got the message "Product not trackable." But, ckreef's works just fine.
  15. Spotted the corn hanging on the side - clever idea! Unfortunately, we're 3+ months away from local sweet corn here. Best part of Summer in Iowa!!
  16. Now I'm jonesing for a steak!! Thanks, you two!
  17. Thanks, Aussie. I've never used mine either, so thanks for the tip. btw - Did you get the quick marinade container, too? I've used that one a lot.
  18. This was their "Winter Home" to get away from the bad weather up north in NY. They even built the railroad up from Atlanta just to build this castle.
  19. And the furnishing inside are just as opulent. First time I went there as a 6 year old, I was fascinated by all the bearskin rugs, with the heads on, on the floors. And, in the library, on the second floor (yes, the library is 2 floors high - or was it 3??), you can actually walk through a tunnel in the fireplace chimney. I thought that was kewl, too.
  20. I plan to use an old one that doesn't see much use anymore, so if it does start to corrode, I'll drive off that bridge later (to quote Ted Kennedy). But, thanks for the heads up, Charles. @Aussie Ora - check's in the mail, as we say here. https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?tLabels=+LA077229165US
  21. I'll check, but I think that I might still have some paraffin starter cubes. Could quarter one of those and give it a try. And, I'll wait longer after dropping it in before topping off the tube with more chips.
  22. My kind of "Hamburger Helper!"
  23. Isn't that place amazing! The gardens alone are incredible. Did you go to the winery? Plus, lots of good breweries in the area, too - Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, and Oskar Blue; plus, the local spot - Wicked Weed. My favorite restaurant is Curate - Spanish tapas. Hope you had a nice visit. I love Asheville. I grew up just south of there in Greenville, SC.
