tquando
Beautiful - only a KK could make a breast that juicy!
MacKenzie
Thanks, tquando, I totally agree, if you want moist chicken cook it on the KK.
tony b
Nice tomatoes, MacKenzie. Mine weren't nearly that big. I never get enough at one time to do anything with except eat them!
MacKenzie
There was a little chicken leftover from last night's dinner so baked up a squash and cleaned out more leftovers from the fridge. One half of the squash is cleaned and added some butter and maple syrup. Plated.
MacKenzie
Another easy dinner, IPA spiced sausages and airfryer fries, near the end of my spinnach and homemade ketchup. See that Tony. Getting dark early these days. OctoForks sausage cooking. Plated. Road trip tomorrow for a chocolate making demo and to pick up some delicious craft beer.

tony b
OK, MacKenzie, what's the trick to get sausages to stay on the Octoforks like that (i.e., stabbed on each end)?? I tried it once and 3 of the 4 brats fell off and into the fire. Managed to salvage them. I've also have had chicken thighs fall off on a single fork (2 tines per thigh). I think the problem might actually be in my motor. It seems to have a hitch in it's rotation and causes the rotisserie assembly (whichever one I'm using, so not limited to Octoforks) to jerk at that point. I think that it's literally shaking the food off. Thinking I need to take the motor apart and see what's up (maybe a broken gear tooth or loose mounting screw?) I have a couple of slices with breakfast and put the rest in my smoothie. Great stuff.
MacKenzie
Tony, no trick, knock on wood I have never had anything fall off, YET. Sometimes I tie the item on with cotton twin. It has never burned off but I don't tend to have a rip roaring fire either. I think you idea of checking inside of the motor sounds like a great idea. That jerk would tend to rip at the fresh meat. The sausages are stabbed in the middle and I drive the tine in as far as it will go so most of the sausage is one a tine. I just got home from my day trip and have some DIPA that I'm going to dive into as soon as I hit the SAVE button. Yesterday was First Friday Firkin at the local brewery. It was a triple dry hopped IPA. Very tasty! Followed by their barrel aged Oktoberfest beer.

MacKenzie
It pays to have cooked KK ribs in the freezer for a quick tasty dinner. Edited October 13, 2017 by MacKenzie

MacKenzie
Happy International Egg Day everyone. BTW, that is only one slice of my tomato. Right after breakfast started the makings of carrot soup. Fresh carrots out of the ground, garlic cloves and onion quarters and on the KK to roast. Getting there and does my ODK ever smell delicious. Done after 1.5 hours at 365F. Edited October 13, 2017 by MacKenzie
