ckreef Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Years ago I use to do a lot of canning and homemade jams - it's been a while. With all the posts (on another forum) of grilled peaches I thought I would try and capture that flavor for later in the year. So I now present you ................. Grilled Peach Jam Initial taste says Oh Yeah grilled Peach yummy in a jar. Will know for sure tomorrow evening when I Crack open the first jar. 2
tinyfish Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 A man of many talents. Those grilled jarred peaches look great.
CeramicChef Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Charles - I'm giving this one a couple of BIG thumbs up! I love peach jam, jelly, and preserves! Heck, any kind of stone fruit in a jar has my vote! For this one, I'm doing the Chicago vote method ... Vote early and vote often! Very, very nice.
ckreef Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 A man of many talents. Those grilled jarred peaches look great.I have enough peaches to make one more batch. If it tastes right tomorrow afternoon I'll make that other batch. I have a couple of ideas that might make the next batch better and easier to make.

CeramicChef Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Charles - no thanks are ever necessary but it is greatly appreciated!
MacKenzie Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 ckreef, I love peach anything. That jam looks awesome. I hope it tastes as good as it looks when you open up a jar tomorrow.
Poochie Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Cook up some biscuits on the baking stone and have a feast with that jam. I'd give you CeramicChef's next paycheck for a couple of jars of that!
CeramicChef Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Poochie - I'm in the process of starting another business! Right now it's all outgo, absolutely NO income! If you're thinking of using my next paycheck for food, you may have hit on the world's most perfect way to lose weight!
wilburpan Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 I was thinking I should try this, but maybe I can talk ckreef into just sending me a jar instead.
Poochie Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Don't worry wilburpan, CC is picking up the tab. Just let him know how many jars to order.
tony b Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 I'll jump on that bandwagon, Poochie! Put me down for a couple of jars, too! ckreef, you're bringing back some fond memories with that one! I grew up in peach country. My folks would buy straight from the orchards. The stuff in the grocery stores these days doesn't even come close!
MacKenzie Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 I might as well join the group. I'm fine with 2 jars too.
CeramicChef Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Charles - heck, as long as I'm picking up the tab, let's just open a facility and kick Smucker's square in their corporate tush! You up for a little venture?
ckreef Posted July 28, 2015 Author Report Posted July 28, 2015 Charles - heck, as long as I'm picking up the tab, let's just open a facility and kick Smucker's square in their corporate tush! You up for a little venture?Always up for a little venture - with all these orders I better make another couple of batches - LOL Here is a money shot after opening a jar last night. It tasted every bit as good as you can imagine and set up beautifully. I made another batch last night that I think came out even better. (and I'm getting better at grilling peaches). I might make a third batch this weekend, take lots of pictures and post it as a recipe. But wait if we are going to startup a "Reef Jam" venture I might not want to give away all my secrets - LOL 2
Poochie Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 My stomach is talking to me after seeing that photo. I can just taste how good that would be.
MacKenzie Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 I'll gladly settle for a couple of jars from that batch.
CeramicChef Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 Charles - I'm not a big fan of toast, but I'd eat that toast in a second and be begging for more! Gorgeous color on those preserves. Kudos!
tony b Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 Where's my jar? Ken, haven't you paid the man yet!?!
ckreef Posted July 28, 2015 Author Report Posted July 28, 2015 My second batch didn't turn out as nice. I added more fruit so it didn't setup as firm. Tastes just as good just a little thin - but not watery. Could still be used on toast but should work really well for cooking with.
