ckreef Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 I really wanted to do this cook so I could try out my new muffin top pan. I always save enough pulled pork from my butt cooks to make Brunswick Stew. Cornbread and Brunswick Stew are a winning combination. I really love my muffin top pan. Makes perfectly sized little Cornbread cakes. 5

Pequod Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 Really like that pan. I think I found a similar one that makes 4" diameter rounds. Perfect mold for hamburger buns.
MacKenzie Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 HalfSmoke, if you make hamburger buns in the pan you mention I'd love to see a pix. or two or even a baker's dozen.:)
Pequod Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 Haven't purchased the pan yet, but here are some pics of the buns in question. Made ring molds out of aluminum foil. 5
MacKenzie Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 Your buns look awesome, I've always done them free-form, I love the seed touch. I'll have to up my game:)
Pequod Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 I really like the brioche buns recipe from Amazing ribs: http://amazingribs.com/recipes/breads/brioche_hamburger_buns.html I cut the recipe in half and make five 4" buns.
MacKenzie Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 I'll have to give that a try, thanks for the tip.:)
tinyfish Posted September 27, 2016 Report Posted September 27, 2016 It's 4:30am here and I'm starving looking at all this great food. 1
ckreef Posted September 27, 2016 Author Report Posted September 27, 2016 (edited) @HalfSmoke great looking buns. Like MacKenzie said - I need to up my game on making buns. The muffin top pan I have is so shallow not sure it would work for buns like that. I do have mini spring form pans that would do the trick. Now you got me thinking. Pequod Posted September 27, 2016 Report Posted September 27, 2016 (edited) Here's the pan I'm looking at. 4" holes and an inch or so deep. Thinking this would work as bun mold and muffin tops too. Bun mold pan Edited September 27, 2016 by HalfSmoke
