GASMAN Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 I am building a new home soon and was interested in how to best incorporate my 23" into a covered outdoor porch or patio...concerned a bit about the smoke but still want to be able to use throughout the year. I have seen some pics on the site in the past but was looking for some more ideas....Thanks!
tony b Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 Did you see DJM's recent post. Nice setup. Could give your some ideas.
5698k Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 Here’s mine. Whatever you end up doing, I recommend you mount a fan in space opposite the grill, so it can blow smoke away. It will build up, and ceiling fans just keep the smoke stirred up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 4
DJM Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 My KK is in the furthest corner away from the house with plenty of airflow on all sides. Unless it’s a very calm day, I don’t have many issues with smoke buildup as there is usually a cross breeze to carry it away. If it does start to build up, my ceiling fan takes care of it pretty quickly as long as it’s not in reverse mode.
Shuley Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 (edited) ....smoke build up has never been an issue for me. I didnt know it ever became one. EDIT: I just realized this said COVERED patio. I totally see why that could become an issue. I live in an area with mild winters so I have no need to cover. Edited February 28, 2018 by Shuley
Tucker Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 We used scissor trusses for our pavilion and left the ends open to facilitate airflow/smoke dispersal. 5
Bruce Pearson Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 That’s a nice setup Tucker. Robert you have a beautiful setup also.
5698k Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Tucker, how do you decide??Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tucker Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 LOL - random rotation; fill 'em all w/ charcoal, then use each one 'til the fuel is gone and move to the next. Unless of course I have a large group, then they all get pressed into service. 3
tony b Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Envious of you all! Would love a nice ODK like any of these.
