  1. Looks kinda like a well-fed angel don't it Curly, look closer; there's horns on that head!!!
  2. Mucho Thanks Cruzmisl!! You're very welcome. Glad you're enjoying the cover. If you're not familiar with Sunbrella you're in for a surprise. I think you'll be amazed how well/long it holds up. If interested in a cover please send me email to [email protected]
  3. Very nice job Cruzmisl!!! Looks great!
  4. Welcome aboard Hitman!!! Congrats on your purchase. I can build you a nice Sunbrella cover now to fit with side tables if you know you're eventually adding them. Shoot me an email to [email protected]
  5. Thanks for the post JD Looks great!! Appreciate the kudos... Looks like a simple cover; however didin't take long to figure out having a triangle footprint and circular top was more geometry than I could handle. So I built a manikin first out of scrap wood; then covered the manikin! Ha!
  6. Cozy, have you've been working on that lathe a little too much lately? Do you know how I can tell?? Sanny want's you to adopt, not swap!! hehe Either way..... if you adopt or swap, I'll marry her!!! Then I can use a KK too!! Ha!
  7. Sorry, I've been away for awhile..... I just called the wife to get a refresher for the receipe. 1 Chuck roast 1 pack Italian salad dressing Beef stock (not broth) 1 Jar pepperchinis (drained) Adjust quantity based on heat of peppers. 1 Chopped onion 3 Garlic Cloves Black Pepper (as desired) Everything into Dutch Oven. Cook ~350 for 4 hours or until meat shredable or until desired doneness. Wife prefers lid on Dutch oven entire cook; I prefer open oven the first hour or so for the smoke flavor. Serve with hogie buns. That's it.
  8. Happy Birthday Dennis!!! I've been out of the net for awhile; I see we share the same birthday!!!! Cheers to you!!
  9. And tiled floor with oriental carpets to boot!!!! Congratulations on your new purchase! You just bought the best cooker in the world. If interested in a custom cover you can email me at [email protected] John
  10. Outside of KKEC, you won't go wrong with Cowboy or Royal Oak.
  11. Salamander, If I use indirect. My heat deflector has approx. 2-3" of space between the edge and wall of K which is where I place the potatos. I like the skin crusty, and dark. I also make sure the fork I use for testing doneness has long enough tines or what ever they're called to reach the middle of potato.
  12. You're amazing FM! Great video. Now tell me, with all the kooking you do, how's come your dome is so clean inside? Did you clean it for the video?
  13. Awesome showing!!! Only takes 5 minutes to view!!! I recommend anyone who hasn't seen the clip to try it. Awesome showing of KK!!! And a great presentation by Chris Lilly!! Stellar job Chris!!
  14. Re: Here you go.. Awesome!!! Thanks Dennis. I didn't realize the link was still valid after the showing. I'm giving it a shot now. Thanks again!!
  15. Nah, Dennis uses Macs and they don't always work right so there was a duplicate post you responded to. I've merged the topics. Thanks JD; I thought I was going nuts there for a bit. Don't answer to that JD!!! I'll just tell you it helps!!
  16. Son calls. Dad, I think I seen your grill on TV!!!! He's a truck driver, sitting in company breakroom eating lunch (pork butt samie) while unloading. Of course talking to other drivers about the pork butt sammi left over from Mothers Day, and my kooker that kooks it. When all the sudden one driver watching TV, Today Show says hey, is your Dad's grill like that one (pointing to TV)? How cool is that! Now the problem is I wanted to see the show but I FORGOT TO SET UP MY RECORDER!!!!
  17. Good taters eehh.... Glad you tried it. If you like potato skin; KK makes the best ever in my opinion. I typically go an hour or so. 50 minutes is close. Kinda depends on the size of potato too. I usually pull baked potato off when I can sink a fork into it with a little resistance. Oh yea; 350-375 F. "Macht Niche" as a German would say; meaning not so important. KK's are very forgiving. I'll probably take a hit for that as I know some like to dial temps in to a tee!
  18. Apparently my first response didn't take Again, nice color, I like it. What happens now Dennnis; say general opinion is negative, do you then not offer the color?
  19. Best Baked Potatos in the world!!! Do a baked potato and you'll wonder where has KK been all your life!!! Stab potato profusely with fork. Coat with fresh ground sea salt, fresh ground black pepper, and EVOO. 350 F. Direct or indirect (indirect more forgiving on the skin). Add topings. Enjoy!
  20. Welcome aboard Sparky!!! You made the correct first step (by signing up here). Make your next step the same and you won't be sorry; don't ask me how I know..... Cheers!!
  21. Thanks, built that one for a retired Navy Captain. Fun project. Customer came up with design, I mailed him a piece of Sunbrella we were using for the cover, he had the embroidery work completed locally, mailed completed work back, and I sewed it into the cover. Worked out pretty slick. Thanks again!
  22. Sanesmith, please check your personal messages. Sent you a PM, all about my covers. Here's a couple photos.
