  3. Are we talking dreams or nightmares???? DS, That sounds like a nightmare.... hehe-he
  4. Zorro, I have a customer looking for a copy of Burkka eyes for his cover. Thought about you. Can I put you two in touch? Or can I get a copy for him? Shoot me an email, I can't remember your email address. Thanks, John
  5. Post a photo of yourself Jackie!!! It might help!!
  6. Due to my job I'm exposed to satellite/microwave sites from time to time. Although I'm not an operator, one once told me (he had a huge dish) he could toss a chicken in front of the dish and by the time it hit the ground would be fully cooked! Still impresses me to this day.
  7. Re: Sam's Deal Ut Oh.... discussion point.... DeeJ, lets leave that comment open for discussion.... Because, I really like the Sams cyrovac packs of babybacks (3 slabs). The only thing is "You have to get the heaviest of the packages!!!!" 8 Lbs or so. The lighter weight packages aren't so good, not enough meat. IMHO
  8. Thanks Primeats. Thought I'd update my pics. But, I must not have taken pics lately because the landscaping in front of the fireplace is also finished! I haven't done anything about a grill for it yet. Not sure I'm going to anymore.
  9. Typically lump, but works with extruded too.
  10. In my experience, foiling ribs translates into fall off the bone. Which is why I avoid the foil also.
  11. Sanny, I was getting ready to write "I thought that line was dead ". But it appears to have worked....
  12. Wow Tucker!!! Cart really turned out nice. Not that the photo you sent me wasn't nice, but cart's finished now and really looks great!!! Your cover materials arrived today! I hope to finish your cover this weekend. Nice post. Now we all want one. Will it roll out the gate, or do I need help to lift it over the fence? And will the lab be home? I want to come steal it!!! Just kidding....
  13. Larry, Please allow me to really confuse you I'm of the "get er up to temp fast" group! I typically shoot for 50 degrees higher than the cooking temp I want. I try to get there as fast as possible. Then make hat and door adjustments. But, I know my door hat positions, for whatever temp I want. It's after adjustments, during heat soak phase, I get the 50 degrees back. Just seems to work for me. Here's how I do it: 1. Re-fill the basket full every time. 2. Open hat and door wide, wide, wide. 3. Ignite coals with the gas attachment. 4. At 50 degrees F. above target I shut her down. 5. Then set hat and door for desired temp. 6. Never open the lid until I get to desired temp. Note: Hat adjustment seems most important. Remember, you can shut down a grill with the door open. I try to come close to matching vent/door openings, but always less exhaust going out than fresh air coming in. Best of luck!!
  14. LarryR, Central Calif? Where bouts?? I'm from Manteca/Stockton area, born in Tracy.
  15. Hehe --- That's why I added all the emoticons. I knew you were razzin the subject a bit....
  16. Royal Oak and Cowboy Lump are prolly my two favorites!! While I'm standing by waiting for Dennis to start carrying lump..... hint, hint.....
  17. Re: Fuel for Ceramic No reasons from here!!! I say use it!! I too prefer lump; but that's no reason to not use what you have.
  18. Looks awesome FM!! I find your setup interesting. Main grate, then heat deflector, then some contraption with holes for air flow, then pizza stone, then calzone. Is there anything below the main grate we can't see (besides charcoal)?
  19. Hello Jocko, Best wishes for a fast and easy as possible recovery. Welcome to the club and ceramic cooking. You're gonna love it. The best tip I have for using your new cooker is to utilize this forum. Ask away, there's lots of help here. You might also consider a Johnnyboy Jammie for your cooker (custom sunbrella cover) Email: [email protected] Welcome aboard!!!
  20. Sorry Fetz, I've been out for awhile. Father in law passed unexpectedly so I've been out of state. Thanks, but sorry I'm not interested at this time. John
