  1. Charles - I'm not much for wabbit, but that cooks looks so dadgummed good I'd most certainly ask for seconds! Great cook, sweet ride, and big time Okie Kudos!
  2. Kudos, Tony! Another gorgeous cook.
  3. bosceaux! What hath God wrought! KKers, this bosceaux defection to a KK is bigger than Satan leaving Heaven! And NO, bosceaux ain't even close to Satan. Bosceaux is one of the good guys. And the guy can obviously cook! bosceaux, have you decided which KJ will be the planter, which will be storage and which gets donated? Once you get your 23" Ultimate, it'll be bye-bye KJ #trifecta! Welcome you big Canuck!
  4. I call it the Tyranny of The Minority. Common sense ain't so common.
  5. MacKenzie - you had me at BACON! And it just got better from there. Ma'am, you can make Pebbles really sit up and sing for you! Beautiful galette and that loaf of sourdough is simply stunning! Major Okie Kudos to you up there. Wonderful cook!
  6. Charles - did you read that post? Seems as if you have your marching orders for at least one cook next week! Don't forget .... happy wife, happy life!
  7. Charles - nicely done (again!). I'd eat 3 or 4 and be as happy as a bug in a rug. I'm betting those tacos would be really good with some pulled k, peppered beef, etc. What all have you tried as fillers? Kudos to ya!
  8. Not a problem. We're glad to help and we're glad to have you join us!
  9. Fernando - if you rarely get more than 8 folks at the table, there is really no need for a KK BB 32", at least in my mind. A 23" Ultimate will serve your needs just fine. You can put a lot of food on a 23" and still have a lot of room left. But I'll tell you this ... no matter which way you decide, you'll have the finest cooker in Houston or Mexico City!
  10. By Jove, he's done it again! Very nicely done, Charles. Major kudos to ya!
  11. Nanuk - I have. 32" BB known as TheBeast. I've never cooked on a 23" Ultimate. I don't know of anyone here who has both a 32" and a 23". That said, there probably won't be any difference between them except issues dealing with differences in size. Recipes remain the same. At least that is the way it is when I cook on my 19" instead of TheBeast. I can load up TheBeast with a HUGE amount of food. Beauty! is considerably more dainty and really isn't the workhorse that TheBeast is. What you will find is a difference in time to heat soak the different KKs. TheBeast is a beast of a cooker. I'll heat soak him for 2 hours or so before big cooks. The 19", aka Beauty! will only take an hour or so to soak. After shut down, because TheBeast has so much thermal mass, he bleeds heat slowly. Beauty! is much smaller and it takes much less time for her to bleed stored heat. Shut down times are about the same. TheBeast is cavernous inside, so he has a lot more O2 to burn up before the fire goes out, but we're talking 30 minutes versus maybe something like 15 minutes for Beauty! The rate at which lump is consumed during a cook seems to be similar between Beauty! & TheBeast. Hope this helps.

  13. Tony - those chain mail cleaners are simply the very best cleaner for CI I've ever found. The only problem I've found is that they aren't quite big enough for my hands. Other than that, that chain mail is the bomb diggity!
  14. Mom taught me to do this years ago, when I had hair that wasn't gray! She went one stop further and put just a drop of detergent in the hot water. Talk about clean! It seems that everything old is new again! Except for me, of course.
  15. Yes, MacKenzie, that reputation vote vote was me, getting another one right! And Charles, the hamburger is among the most noble of cooks. So versatile, so reasonably priced, and so delicious! You did this burger quite proud.
  16. Geez Louise! Never in a million years would I have thought of this cook. Daily I am forced to add to the list of cooks I've just got to try. A really nicely done cook, Charles! Mega Okie Kudos to you. Now what's skreef gonna do that makes me drool like a fool?
  17. As a former Scout, I find the most effective way to start a fire is to rub two chunks of lump together!
  18. Poochie - Dennis has a compound that he uses for teak conditioning. It's the bomb. Ask him about it. Also, Wilbur is a wood worker of some renown. He posted a link to a product that he was considering using. Maybe he'll post that link again.
  19. Run for office? Are you kidding me? Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! There is owned up. And as for running for office, I'm only running to my office at work! Public office,
  20. Charles - you've done it again! Very, very nice cooks. I just got in from lunch and now I'm hungry and it's all your fault! Kudos!
  21. Any recipe entailing Guinness demands attention. Anything with Guinness cooked on a KK deserves a standing ovation! This I have to try.
  22. Tony - I've noticed in TheBeast that the direction of the burn tends to spread from the front, nearest the bottom vent, to the back wall. This makes some sense to me as that is the direction of the airflow because of the natural flow in the KK. That's what it seems to me. I've also noticed that the fire tends to spread out in that direction. This is for the natural airflow through TheBeast. When I use my CyberQ, i.e. under forced airflow, the burn patter seems to be from the fan port directly across The Beast. Again, the burn pattern seems to fan out somewhat.
  23. Tony - beautiful burgers! I love that money shot! The only way this cook gets any better is if a couple of those burgers were sitting on my plate. Kudos!
  24. You guys are HARSH! And if I've been driven to drink ... ahhh ... it's still your guys fault! Sure! That's the ticket! In our society today, certainly you don't expect me to accept responsibility for my actions, do you!?
  25. A life-long Cajun. That 'splains everthang! And what makes you think the Aggies would want you?
