Please click on the Google + icon on the top right of on the front page.. (not this one) Google holds Komodo Kamado's fate in it's hands and if getting lots of clicks makes them happy, please help hake them happy.. In fact if you have accounts, please click on all of them.. Google Plus, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter I've lost 70% of my traffic because of Google's new algorithms since last May.. ARGH and double ARGH.. ;)

Re: Pictures on this board The post you were looking at "Supreme & Deluxe "Classic" hinge comparison" was from 2006 and used a now defunct Mac gallery.. It's a completely irrelevant post because those models have not been built for 6 years.. I've moved the post to an outdated post area.. The first few years the forum was up and running many people used outside the forum photo accounts like Imageshack. When the account is changed or the service discontinued the links go bad..

Re: Most of forum recovered from Hackers.. I'm assuming you tried Dj's suggestion of clicking the "Mark forums / topics read" to the right of view unread posts. Did that eliminate them from you unread list. If so hopefully a new read / unread history will then be made.. I never use this feature so I can't check.. (probably should Please let me know if something is still incorrect and I'll have someone track it down.. -

Would you buy a used BGE XL for $700 ?
DennisLinkletter replied to MadMedik's topic in Komodo General
Re: Would you buy a used BGE XL for $700 ? I just sent the molds for both the 32" and portable to get the last tweek.. I've redesigned the interlocking lip so that the lower flat surface next to the 45º section that holds the gasket is no longer flat.. both it and the upper lip are now have a few degrees downward slope.. this will prevent water from the lid from entering the lip and prevent water from pooling/sitting on the lip.. in a freeze zone this is especially important. When the molds are back we will begin casting for production.. I have the metal work for 15 - 32" grills and 35 portables ordered.. -

Re: Granite work-surface Pick your own I now ship the large KK workstation with or without the granite top so you can pick your own. The size needed for this are considered smalls and are reasonable because the are the leftover pieces from larger kitchen sales. This workstation is very Komodo like in that it is over built and actually engineered. The piece is all teak with mortise and tenon joints. The doors are in house 5 layers of teak which are cross laminated to make essentially teak plywood. This is used for the door frame because it does not expand or warp when it gets wet. It's the ultimate material for outdoor door frames and drawers. Woodworking has of course been my primary business for 28 years here in Indonesia. To give you an idea of how this piece is built it is 64"w X 28"d X 33.5"h and weighs a whopping 214 lbs of only teak. KK~Workstation.jpg[/attachment:1w4jr2q4] n67324

Re: Rubs Spice from this place was the game changer.. On average 60-80% more aromatic and flavorful. I order them whole and grind them fresh.. never add any salt to my rubs. For ribs and brisket, sea salt by weight, 0.6% by weight (thanks Syzygies

KK~ How to install your roti motor video
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in Komodo Videos
Re: KK~ How to install your roti motor video Joe at one grill changed to a new motor that seems to have a tad bit smaller socket and some reports of a motor with a shallow socket. I understand your frustration but only know about things like this when I get feedback. As you saw in the video, with the original motor.. it works well. This of course is not how the motor was designed to be installed. This is the first I've heard about the key being a tight fit, I will look into this. The female threaded sleeves are a new to the KK's they used to have a bolt sticking out of the grill instead. We have also had issues with the tubes threads getting messed up when the tubes are cut to length. The bolts were put in without cleaning the threads properly with a tap. I'm sorry about the frustration caused by these parts.. It's been a hotly discussed component in the factory.. We also had two different machine shops/suppliers which had slightly different taps that caused issues. We are now definitely aware of the problems and are redesigning the entire roti system to improve it's ease of use.. I will contact you and make up a shaft that fit your motor.. -

Re: Most of forum recovered from Hackers.. We were hacked again sale arsehole.. Left malware that could have deleted the entire forum.. Once I knew he was scamming me I hired SiteLock.com to secure the site.. We lost very little and the site is being "hardened" and we should be impenetrable in a few days. -
Here is a simple video that shows how to install the roti motor.. We had two companies making the roti components because the better company was often fully booked and could not take the order.. Mistake.. we're learning lots.. one problem was that the sample motor we were using had a larger than standard socket.. Go figure.

8" to 6" Roti Cradle Reducer
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in KK Features & Accessories
Re: 8" to 6" Roti Cradle Reducer We have only made up this prototype.. But we'll make some up for existing 8" owners and then package it 8" with them in the future. Do you hear something out front? Go check it's probably being delivered as you read this... Actually the problem with putting a smaller piece of meat in the larger 8" basket is that the meat no longer turns on it's axis.. It's out of center and wobbles.. This reducer raises the distance of the cradle from 4" from the axis to 3" to the axis. Simple but efficient modification.. I got really excited when I figured this out and could hardly wait to see it in metal form. As I said, It will definitely kill the sales where people purchase both and I'll now include it in the 8" package which will make the 8" now cost about $110 so I'm sure there will still be some 6" sales at $74. -
Coconut Charcoal is Amazing
DennisLinkletter replied to MadMedik's topic in KomodoKamado Charcoal Feedback
Re: Coconut Charcoal is Amazing Remember that the volume of the charcoal is not the only determining factor for how much actual fuel there is for your cook. It's also the density of the charcoal and of course the fixed carbon content.. The same volume of charcoal from soft wood will of course weigh much less than the same volume of dense hardwood charcoal which of course weighs even less for the same volume as the extruded CoConut shell charcoal. Then depending one how well it was carbonized, the fixed carbon content can range from a low of about 50% to a high of around 95%. So with these figures in mind, filling the bowl has noting to do with how much actual carbon you have to burn. Perfect example, your 8 hour cook using a full bowl in contrast to a full (16lb) bowl of my KK burning for 85 hours. Oh last but not least.. Thank you for the kudos.. I have to agree, my KK Coconut Charcoal is Amazing! -
This is probably not going to be good for my 6" Roti sales but it's a great idea and so here it is. The reducer just sits inside the 8" roti cradle and raises the meat being turned essentially creating a 6" cradle. Re: Hello from OHIO I really like my Looftlighter.. I wish it had another button for more airflow so it would work like my hair drier. It's basically the same principal.. It lights just a tiny bit but that tiny bit with lots of airglow creates the heat which lights everything so quickly.. I wish it had the slow speed to get a grape worth of charcoal burning then a high speed switch/fan to get it raging.. They sell them for $39 in AU makes the $79 in the States look like a ripoff..
