Re: Brisket Pic and help request That's a home run.. Looks great.. Great job slicing that bad boy too.. One of the brisket tips Chris Lilly gave me was to crush about 5 beef bullion cubes and mix them with Worcestershire sauce.. This can also be injected..

New Guru plug design finalized and in production
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in Komodo General
Re: New Guru plug design finalized and in production After we had this prototype made up, we showed them how we wanted it and the quality necessary. We told them to make up a quality sample for us to ok and then we would make two orders of 25. They skipped the sample and delivered 25 plugs with the holes all crooked, deep scratches, visible welds etc.. They looked terrible.. they bluffed and claimed that was the best they could do. I called them on it and walked to order from another machine shop. We should be close.. All this happened over the holidays when nothing really gets do anyway.. -

Poll - Main and lower handle position/placement
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in Komodo General
Re: Poll - Main and lower handle position/placement I can honestly say I often slide my drip pan thru the hole as an indirect heat shield.. and then also remove it with tongs and gloves later while grilling. I've also bowled wood chunks into fires before. I'm happy to put up a poll. It would be easy enough to tack it closed even tie it off with some wire.. -
Full size KK cabinet with Cobalt Blue tile insert
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in Komodo General
Re: Full size KK cabinet with Cobalt Blue tile insert I'm fine with shipping them without the stone.. Much easier for us and I'm guessing it's readily available and much better selection Stateside. Maybe I should only ship them without the insert.. -
Charcoal basket - Sear grill modification
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in Komodo General
Re: Charcoal basket - Sear grill modification This column was inspired by this post "Grilling with minimal lump" And I've had people tell me that they cook for two and would like not to have to light the entire basket to sear two steaks. I'm sure that if I cut off all airflow except what is being forced thru the column, it would be really responsive. Maybe make the sheet metal so that one quarter can have 3 inches of charcoal along with the column. -

Re: BBQ.About.com, Ultimate Grills, Best of the Best list The stainless tube is milled to the specs given to us by BBQ Guru.. I'll write them and confirm nothing has changed. I'm guessing your rubber gasket will compress and get smaller with age. -
Re: New Member - SoCal - Lake Forest Welcome to the forum Jeff.. What he failed to mention is that this all happened on the 22nd of December.. It was the classic.. Wednesday call asking can we get this delivered Friday before Christmas.. I told him I could not make any promises but would do my best. I really can't believe it made it because the freight company was singing we only have a skeleton crew working Friday song.. Soo pleased it all worked out.. I grew up just over the hill in Laguna Beach, so I know your area well.

Here's a new twist/idea.. Three rings down there will be two removable 1/4" SS rod grates where the plywood is shown. They will be notched and sit in place effectively cutting the basket in half depth wise. There will be two half moon stainless sheets. One will be a complete half moon the other will have a hole cut for the sear column.. n68342 n68343 n68344 n68345 n68346 n68347

Forum Upgrade-Upload multiple images at once!
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in KK Announcements
Re: Forum Upgrade-Upload multiple images at once! So is everyone happy with the new uploader? Above I show images from 5" to 30" ... Hopefully you all will start uploading images on the forum. If you look at s=many old posts the images are gone because the image hosting service changed or disappeared.. this even happened to my images when Apple "graduated" to a new format.. When you click on an image it of course lets you view the image to as large as your window and you can then click to open in a new window which gives you full size. There are also next and previous buttons. If the uploaded photo is not huge there is also small thumb nails across the bottom of the screen of the entire page.. which is cool for the cooking photos posts. All in all its pretty slick. -

Re: Forum Upgrade-Upload multiple images at once! It resizes but the secret here for uploading speed is to simply set your "camera" to a lower setting. Unless you are going to print them on paper or manipulate them in photoshop, there is no reason to shoot huge files. but this absolutely resizes as you can see... ;) 5"X5" n67038 10"x10" n67034 15"x15" n67035 20"x20" n67036 30"*30" 1.7mb n67037 -

Ok here is a big improvement.. Click "Upload Attachment" n68336 Then click "Choose File" which lets you select an image from your computer To add additional images just click the + to the right of the file name on top to add as many images as you want. When finished click "Add the file" at the bottom and up they all go. n68337 Then you place them where you want using the "Place inline" button n68338 Better eeh? ;)
