  1. I bet the "tenting accommodations" are some of the best you've ever had.:) Great way to think about it.
  2. I agree,Bruce, but I suspect 5698k knows she won't. 5698K, I hear exactly what you are saying.
  3. Glad to hear you are all coping CK, and things are working as best as they can in a difficult situation.
  4. Yes, Tony, I think it is great, not everyone wants to high pieces of meat if you are only feeding one or two people.
  5. Thanks, Wayne, no it was not veal. The butcher shop just cuts up the briskets into small cuts and I knew that the KK wouldn't dry it out so I bought one of the pieces. I am sure if I called ahead I could get a full brisket but I just did a drop in.
  6. Stiles, I always use my stainless steel curly kate. I never cook on a dirty grate, so it is dirty I clean it before the cook. That is it in a nut shell, no magic.
  7. I have two feeders out but didn't one single hummingbird, maybe they have all gone south. I will miss watching and hearing them.
  8. Go for it, Aussie, it is tasty stuff.
  9. Gorgeous cook, Shuley. Hope you get that heartburn situation cleared up soon.
  10. I only had one of mine left as of yesterday. Keep feeding those birds some of them might be mine.
  11. Welcome, I totally agree with what the others have said, 100%. The KK is awesome, the service is awesome and while you may find this hard to believe there is a big improvement in the taste and moisture of the food that is cooked on the KK. Is also awesome. It will be one of those purchases that you make and you will know you've hit the jackpot.
  12. I agree Paul but fortunately this was the exception[emoji4]
  13. Thanks, Tony, quite often I don't like grass fed beef but this was very good and the texture was perfect. This brisket was $20.++ for 2.5 pounds, not cheap but it did taste very good. I kept wanting to nibble and nibble at it.
  14. The great news is that you had a tasty roast for dinner. Next time you will have an even more fantastic roast.
  15. I picked up a 2.5 lb. pound brisket on my Fri. day trip. Normally I wouldn't do this but knowing the KK there would be no worries about drying out this small piece of meat. On the grill at 225F at 9:45 AM. BTW, this beef was organically raised without hormones, etc. and was only grass fed. Several hours later when the IT was 165F I wrapped the brisket in brown paper. No pixs but was I surprised at how much it had shrunk before wrapping. Done 203 F and 10:45 PM. About 15 mins later, unwrapped. Sliced. Plated. In some pixs the brisket may appear dry but it was not. I'd do this one again.:)
  16. Talk about comfort food, erik, I am starving and that just looks sooooooooooo delicious. Truth be told it would look delicious if I was stuffed.
  17. I loved it and actually I did think I could taste the beer hops. This one is for you Tony. I can't remember what hops were used but I'll ask my friend and see what he says. It has a wonderful aroma though. Tony, that beer was called FLR - Front Line Rocker DIPA. It's an 8% DIPA brewed with 50:50 Citra:Simcoe hops. The aroma as you put the glass to your mouth is stunning, loved it and the taste.
  18. Fri. I went on a day trip to get some special meat and beer. Came back with both and a combination of the two. The meat market had beer bacon, the beer was an IPA made by my brew-master friend so I just had to try that.:) This was tasty breakfast, ck peach jam, purple crack and beer bacon.
  19. I thought I went through a lot of sugar but nothing compared to that, thank goodness. I loved that expression, "bumming herds". All of our humming bird migrate, males and females, I have only 1 or 2 left so I am still feeding them.
  20. Those are good tips not ones that a person might think of.
  21. At least they will be safe and be getting great food while they wait the outcome of the storm.
  22. ck, it sounds like you and your sister are going to ride out the storm together. I sure hope her house survives in tact. Scary stuff.
  23. Thanks, Bruce. I agree. I think my eyes were bigger than my belly.[emoji4]
  24. Thanks, Tony, it is pretty tasty and salty so it leaves you thirty. I guess that's what beer is for. I'm visiting my brew-master friend tomorrow, that should be tasty.
