Looks like my next mission is to hand cut my burger meat. I wouldn't want to be doing this for a crowd.

Wayne, it is not an orchid and I do have a few of those too. It is a cactus and I might if very lucky see 3 in a very good year. -
Yes, I have used Royal Oak that comes from the USA and no problems. The only time I have gotten that bitter taste is if I have put the meat on too early. I should have let the fire settle down before adding the meat, if you open the lid and the smoke you smell is not good and you put your meat in it will end up on your meat.

A friend asked me to do up some Canadian bacon for him. He brought out 2 pork loins. Here they are on the KK. I used the KK smoker. It does take me awhile to get it going but once it going it's going! I can't believe I didn't think to take any sliced pixs. I did cut a thin slice of one of the piece to see what it tasted like. I knew it smelled tasty but just had to make sure before I delivered it.

The bud started a couple of weeks ago. It gets longer and longer over the time and a few days before it is going to open it makes a 90 degree turn running parallel to the floor, then in a few days it starts to swell and then you know it is nearing bloom time. Watch it all evening as the petals start to spread. The final opening takes about 3 to 4 hours. It then slowly starts to wither. -
KeithB, that pork tenderloin cook looks delicious.

Aussie, pretty colour and just wait until you grind your own meat for burgers. :):):) You will never go back to store bought ground meat.

You read that correctly, my Night Blooming Cereus blossomed tonight and my neighbours even came to watch it. It started swell in the early evening and by 8 the petals started to flare out and it was fully open by 11:30. When I get up tomorrow it will be hanging like a limp rag. The blossom is probably 8 inches in diameter.

That is wonderful news, I hope you have the camera batteries all charged up and ready for the big event because it is a BIG event.

Rice Cooker Mac&Cheese 2 C elbow pasta 2 C water 1 t salt Put in rice cooker set on White rice for 30 mins. Cheese Sauce 1.5 C cheese (I used a mix of cheeses.) 1 can evaporated milk (370ml) ½ t mustard powder ½ t black pepper Mix. Add to macaroni and stir. The mac will still be wet, that is OK. Set cooker for 10 mins. on warm cycle setting. Put into individual serving dishes, sprinkle with bread or cracker crumbs and place under the grill until the desired colour is reached.

Wanted to something differently today so decided to make mac and cheese in the rice cooker. Turned out nice and tasty. Only had white cheese on hand so that is what I used, 2 different cheddars. For the ribs I just needed to sauce them and warm them up. Added some crispy onions and set the dish under the broiler for a couple of minutes. The sauce was one of those leftover sauces that I made but didn't label.
