  1. As odd as it may sound, I find cooking on the KK easier, tastes better, and I've been cooking on ceramic for many years. I was expecting to get a much better built grill when I bought the KK but I wasn't expecting things to be easier to grill, to be more moist and to taste better. Talk about a bonus.
  2. I have never done this because I did order the baking stone with my KK but if I hadn't I think I would put heat deflector on the fire basket and then get heat soak the KK to around 500F and put my pizza on a pizza screen as high up in the dome as possible. Warning I have not tried this it is what I would do if I didn't have the baking stone. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Tasty chops and beans, ck. :)
  4. Perfect, can't wait to see it all setup.
  5. The 8 inch model with the 6 inch reducer is what I have and like it very much. Also have the double bottom drip pan and used it with the last rotisserie chicken to collect some drippings for gravy.
  6. Thanks, sk, yes, we can't let a little weather keep us from getting the best testing food and it isn't from the kitchen stove.
  7. Geo, thank you:) I appreciate your comments. I am new to KK cooking and sure am having fun with it. I've been a long time ceramic grill cooker but this refractory cooker is the cat's meow. I think if I uped the heat I would cook the burgers on the upper grill and they would be fantastic. Most times I just want to enjoy the process and so I'm in no rush. I hope you post pixs of your weekend cook.
  8. What a great selection you made, it is stunning and wait until you see if for real. :)
  9. churchi, I light the fire in one place only. It is seldom that I light more than one spot. For pizza I would light a couple of spots for sure. Normally I'm not in a big rush as there are always other preps to be doing or I just want to take my time and enjoy.
  10. Geo, that was a great move and also a very smart one, pebble KKs do cook better. You will love it.
  11. Welcome, you are going to be amazed at the KK can and does do every day. Your food is moving to the next level. We hope you will post lots of pixs of your new purchase.:)
  12. mk1, those ribs look perfect, great colour, nice smoke ring and juicy.
  13. There was one patty left so here's a rerun cheeseburger lunch. :) Plus I made more pretzel bites this morning. After sampling 3 or 4 I thought I'd put a couple on a plate for a pix. they are so good. This time I'm not putting the salt on until I am going to eat them. If you put it on too early it will dissolve. On the plate is also some very hot chili con queso.
  14. Jon, that sure is a tasty looking cook. You have made me want to do it soon.
  15. Newg4, you are now on the correct path. Dennis is great to speak with, knows his stuff inside out and then some. He will take all the time that is needed to answer your questions.
  16. Welcome. I hope you find it feasible soon. One thing I know is that it will be a purchase that you will wish you'd made a long time ago. I'm relatively new to KK and it has been a wonderful purchase, one that I wish I'd made much sooner.
  17. ck, you have the runny egg you wanted and it all looks very tasty.
  18. Thanks guys, it was very tasty and very messie.
  19. Tinyfisf, I was wondering about using chicken instead of the fish too since I'm not for dinner of fish.
  20. Rak, dinner looks amazing, beautiful colours and healthy too.
