  1. Well spotted mate. That sub forum i have now collapsed into the new heading for that section. That sub forum was there just as a reminder to email Dennis your username for the forum as an owner to be admitted into the owners section.

I though it would be better to delete the sub forum (as you couldn't post in there anyway) and just add it to the section heading.

    It used to say:

    Owner's Area

    Now it says:

Owner's Area (New Owners please send Dennis your user name to be admitted)

Makes the whole main page a little shorter in the browser and i thought it was a bit cleaner.

  2. Thanks for all the time you have spent on trying to nut out the issue @wilburpan I really appreciate it. Thats helped to narrow it down. Does this only happen on the main page or throughout the whole forum?

I cant seem to reproduce the same slowness issues you guys are seeing. As you can see from a few posts above i did test on a few different devices and i had no issues.

I wonder now if its to do with the right hand side menu like you have advised about. It could be to do with the skin or to do with the forum upgrade.

Ill post a support ticket on the IPS forums shortly and see if i can get some help on it as im stuck on this issue and dont have many more options for me to fix it from my side. We may have to wait on a new maintenance release of the forum software to see if that fixed up the slowness.

All i can suggest for the moment is to go back to the old skin for the people who are affected. I am sorry about the pain here, just dont know what else to do for you guys that are affected.

If i have another update ill write back.

  3. Thanks for the replies here @ckreef and @HalfSmoke, @xraydoc there is no easy way to do this unfortunately. The best advice is what @ckreef has mentioned where you can subscribe to the thread. The issues there as he explains is the notifications. But if its a topic you are interested in maybe you want the notifications. Maybe test the idea out with a few active posts and see how it goes.

Apart from that what @HalfSmoke has suggested is a valid idea too. If you dont have one note you can use evernote as well. This is just a bit more of a manual way and you have to actively visit the URL's from time to time to get an update (if required). One downside with this way is if the forum URL's slightly change then the bookmarked pages/URLs will not auto update and you may loose your reference. If you bookmark them someway through the site they will always be up to date.

Thanks for the post, im sorry we dont have any better way for you.

This is completely cosmetic.  Basically color added so the lip is not splotchy grey. The lip is traditional grout bonded with a process using a heat gun.. I'd explore rubbing dark grunge from the wall of your grill into it. If it was darker it would not stand out and then it would just be a texture difference.  It's doubtful the repair will look any better..

Cheers thanks for the reply @DennisLinkletter

I thought it could be just cosmetic however i thought it was best to ask. Hearing from the replies i think it was a great chance to explain that to all the users here.

Much appreciated as well are all the other suggestions too.

Ill take the advice to colour it black with some soot/grunge.

Simple ideas to fix issues. I like it.

    cheers.

  5. Hi All,

I was using my rotti basket the other night and when i took the basket out (it was a bit tight as the steel had expanded a few mm during the cook, and it was super hot), i accidentally chipped around the edge of my KK. Its the black looking paint/sealant around the edge of the KK.

I dont think it will harm or hurt the cooking on my KK and i have cooked on it since, however i was wondering do i need to get some more of the black lid sealant to fix up the hole? I will attach a pic of the issue below. I want to fix it up if required before it may get any worse.

Also dose anyone know if we get something to fix it up with (if it needs to be) in the spare kit we get from @DennisLinkletter? Or what would be the best to repair it if i want to.

    Thank you.

  7. Ok great thanks @HalfSmoke and @KevinD for the feedback.

I have enabled the old skin for you to test with.

Would you open up the site on your iPad and down the bottom of the screen (may be easier to see on your desktop first) you can find a section on the bottom right hand side that says "Theme". Can you select the older 4.1.11 theme, reload the page/tab and test for me?

Also can you try chrome or something different to safari on your iPad please.

    Let me know.

    Thanks

  8. Hi All,

I have upgraded the forum skin to the latest this evening. There may be some small issues as the template contained quite a few changes as we have jumped up a number of versions. So please report if you think there is any issues with the skin.

The main issue is the logo at the top which i will post a support ticked with the skin vendor. Hope to have that fixed soon.

    Cheers.
