  1. Wow great pic MacKenzie. That Canadian bacon looks scrumptious. I was telling my friend at breakfast this morning how all the people on this site love to eat and such wonderful food and pictures; every time I see pictures of a cook it makes my mouth water. I'm almost afraid to take pictures because all the ones on this site look so professional. Presentation or in the illustrious words of "CC" the money shot. have a great day
  2. thanks CC. I'm getting things the way I like them. when I get my cabinet that will put the finishing touches on the patio. my main cooker is the KK of course but I have the disc-it for things like stir fry and stuff like that. I also have a treager smoker I bought before I knew I was going to get my KK, its off to the side and not in the pic. Its kinda funny I have lived in this house for 27 years and bet I haven't been out in the back yard more that 100 times. but now that I have DB I guess that will all change in my outdoor kitchen. now all I have to do is get rid of all that dead grass and put something that doesn't need water. all those storage containers have charcoal in them LOL and I still have a pallet in the garage. guess I won't have to worry about charcoal for a few years LOL. MacKenzie not sure what I'm gong to cook. May just make stir fry. my daughter is coming over for a bike ride later on this afternoon. and I'm not sure how far we will ride. Lucky for me I have an electric bike so if i get tired I'll just go on battery power. Ok everybody have a great weekend and happy grilling.
  3. Sorry bout the double post i didn't think the first one went through
  4. Well after reading all the cool names you guys have for your kk's l came up with a name for my BB 32. I'm going to call it Dragons Breath cause it breaths fire, DB for short.
  5. Hey Doc it will be worth the wait. I have had mine for over a month and I still go out to just look at it and touch it. Lol
  6. Those pictures bring back fond memories of days long past and a bit of nostalgia. thanks for posting them
  7. I think Those Mishi Kamados were the first to show up in the good ol USA. I had one when I was married about 35 years ago and loved it, cooked on it all the time. It got lost somewhere after the big D. but I never forgot about it and when I saw the Komodo Kamados a few years back decide I wanted one again. It took me till this year to full fill my dream. I love my KK one of the guys said its a cooker and backyard art. I'm glad I didn't buy a 23 or else I would have put it in the house as a piece of art work. Man those pictures are wonderful!! everything looks so delicious. keep them coming.
  8. Aloha Kevin you From da island brah? Pele is a great name and great color What part of California are you from? I live in Fremont. Close by any chance? I have a BB 32 in about the same color as yours. I know what you mean about the drought my back yard is completely dead so all my pics are of just my patio. I'm ashamed to show the back yard especially after seeing all the great yard pics here in the forum. Thinking about putting in artificial turf.
  9. Izzy have you looked at the teak cabinets available at the KK website? Dennis is making me a large custom cabinet with stainless top and lined shelves. It should hold all the extras and more. I'll post pictures when I get it.
  10. The peach ice cream looks delicious. But I gotta know if you cooked the French toast on the KK? Lol
  11. Bacon grease in a can by the stove, Wow my dad used to keep one there also. I didn't know people still did that. Will wonders never cease. I have a big bucket of lard I used to season my disc-it with, guess I should have used bacon grease. Oh well live and learn from all you master chefs here at the site. Have a nice weekend everybody.
  12. wow! that levi is a nice color! great pic. have fun grilling and send more pics. please.
  13. Thanks for the mouth watering pictures, I love spaghetti and meat balls; one of my favorite foods. anything special in the meatballs?
  14. My long time friend drove 3 hrs. yesterday to help me work on my fence, he is amazing, works like a machine. This time he brought his lovely wife with him to help out she also works like a machine LOL. I think the real reason he brought her was to see my KK BB32 when he was here last time he fell in love with the one I have. I wouldn't be surprised if they buy one. I heard the 42 is coming out next month I told my friend that If buy the 42 I'll give him my 32 LOL. But only if he helps me move the 42 into the back yard.
  15. Thanks, hickory smoked salt! is there no end to the things you guys do with your konodos? I have to be honest here I haven't cooked on mine yet but plan on doing something tomorrow I have a shipment of meat coming so will start. I have funny quirk I don't like to use things once I buy them. Stupid I know especially with something as good as the KK. I know once I get pass the first cook I will be using it all the time. anyway I like reading all the post here and am learning a lot. Thanks again CChef
  16. Looks onolicious as we say in Hawaii. Now I'm hungry guess I'll go get a hamburger or hot dog. Your brother made German potato salad! When I was a kid my dad made German potato salad it was one of my favorites. Think you could get me your brother's recipe?
  17. Welcome to the family Steve. Wait to you see it in person the photos are great but in person you just can't believe. Looking forward to lots of pics.
  18. does anyone even use they're ovens once they get a KK? Looks like you folks had a great 4th. Beautiful bike and passenger. fireworks look pretty impressive also. they are illegal in my town. The city is so cheap they won't even have a display for the folks here. But I heard plenty of illegal one going of last night.
  19. Is that little spot right in the middle of the picture he solvent venting or is it something else?
