I don't know who said it but i read that the top vent is the key to adjusting temp.

Thanks everybody for all the suggestions I think I found the problem. I didn't have the Lower vent closed all away even though It look close all the way to me. After I shut it down after my cook when I checked this morning it was down in temp and the fire was completely out. I'll know for sure after my next cook. This forum is so cool ask a question and you'll get cool answers from everybody I love it .

Thanks guys I appreciate all the suggestions and help. I'll pull all the vents out and check them out. Have a great day everybody.

Hello Everybody I did my first cook today and took a few pictures. It was a simple cook with New York steak marinated in kentuckyaki sauce. Plus 2 chicken sausage with pineapple and garlic and some white corn. Simply cook BUT I haven't done any grilling in over 30 years and didn't even know where to start. it tasted great though. That Kentuckyaki sauce is aged in oak whiskey barrels. Question; how long does it take for the KK to cool down? I closed it up after burn in yesterday but it was still hot this morning only about 100 degrees, buy I didn't have to relight it to cook the steak and corn. I checked the latch and it was all the way down and the bottom vents were closed ( I thought) all the the way. The only thing I can figure is that the top vent wasn't tight enough. Any Ideas what might have happened? I just went out to check it and found the large bottom vent was open about a fingernail width, 1/64 inch would that do it? any answers would be appreciated. Everybody have a great weekend and I look forward to your answers.

Hello Mac Kenzie can you wrap that loaf of luscious looking sourdough and send it to me? It looks soooo good.

Well Aussie the wait is over now the fun begins. Those drums look pretty tasty. You guys come up with such good looking food. I'm going to try a steak I marinated for the pat 24 hours and a couple sausage. May go buy some corn. Did the burn yesterday. Happy grilling mate!

I'm hoping I can take the top off and then roll the cabinet through the house. The cabinet itself without the top this supposed to be 66 Long by 30 inches deep and 40 inches high and it should fit through all my doorways if not we'll just have to either take the fence down or lift it over the fence either way it's going into the backyard.

Hi Rick; I have the two side tables and didn't want to take them off so I had the cabinet made as a free standing unit. In retrospect I should have had it made rectangular and another thing I would have done is make the two bottom shelves pull out. to late to change anything now its on its way here. can't wait for it to arrive. I'll take pictures. only hope I don't have to lift it over the fence it probably pretty heavy with all that stainless steel. have a great day.
