  1. Sorry Kevin, Saw the color designation on the circle and I guess I wasn't paying attention to the letter. We have wild turkeys in this area and in abundance, so that's the backyard comment...but I'm looking forward to tour pics also
  2. I have had the 23 a Blue denim since July and I am definitely am pleased with the results. I was on the fence with the 32 in the beginning but with the extra weight and all on the deck meant putting it off so I went with the 23. No regrets, Dennis helped me with the choice and I really haven't looked back but, I have been curious. I would like to expand and choose a 19 high top, they look awesome as in the one MacKenzie has sitting up on the table. The right size to be portable, almost. Xmas is coming and I am a little busy at the moment but, when the holidays pass I'll shoot you an email in the message section. Until then a very Merry Xmas to you and yours.
  3. That's one big Turkey, you didn't shoot that one in the backyard, did ya? Looks delicious
  4. Ed, Your work is good and old school that's fine. If you need a hand, I'm just down the street at your convenience and will help with anything. I don't think you need any help but, when I grew up in New Bedford most of my friends were Portuguese and we always helped each other.
  5. Trial and error, it's how we learn.
  6. Good trial then, your work is fine and the smoke it imparts should do well, however, the 32BB is perfect and is a better representation.
  7. Simply marrrvelloouusss! I mean that looks good! I looking forward to playing catch up with you all, very imaginative ideas and a wealth of knowledge to draw upon.
  8. That's ok ED, I've hit the button twice myself thinking it didn't take to the screen. I have the same burn pot but, that wasn't the KK I expected to see. No shame no blame, I also have a few other cookers myself and work with them on occasion when the need presents. It's all good in the neighborhood.
  9. Now I would think you put the berries in whole. Does the dye impart any color to the beer? I would find that unique.
  10. Nice to see the berries used and with such good results. The whole meal looks very appetizing. Thanks for breaking ground.
  11. Some nice Autumn colors going on. I'll use some pepper sauces in making BBQ sauce and marinades to kick it up a bit, nice to make your own as you do. Should Tobasco be worried?
  12. Mac, she stole all of your photos, I mean pretty far back in history. I did leave a message stating, "THESE ARE NOT YOUR PHOTOS"!!!!!!!!!!!! Is she the Wicked Witch of the West
  13. Yeah! Thought that was pretty low
  14. Hello Mac, thought I'd let you know that someone is uploading your photos on the Primo photo gallery site and signing the name Lynne to them. They have your Saturday bread, your bacon and duck egg and others. Just thought you'd like to know
  15. No problem, been called worse. U should receive a message on the tab right next to notification. When u send a message and send it to tyrus it will be sent to the KK site confidentially on the message tab and my email
  16. The Purple crack mix with the brown sugar base Fat Bastard rub was inconclusive. I used 5 peppercorns crushed finely and blended it into the rub and applied. I feel it does well in a sugar base, sweet heat. The next time I will add more to enhance the pepper flavor but, they do pair well together, it's a matter of proportion. On the left side the Purple crack blend was applied and to the right a killer hog rub was on. The ribs didn't pull back as much as I wished but, time wasn't on my side tonite. They were good, no complaints. So don't be dissuaded by the first impression, hey, sometime your best friends might have been ones that didn't meet expectations at first but, they're still around.
  17. You do realize it's only Wednesday
  18. If that ain't a French bread I don't know what is. A thing of beauty
  19. 2.2 lbs Bruce. One more friend is never enough. It is Christmas
  20. That's exceptional as the eyes please. Dennis may not put anything in your stocking this year if u stray away. Be careful, coal is in ample supply. I'll have taste though
  21. You know I have my own experiment going on now. I crushed {fine} 5 peppercorns and added it to a Pork Rub I have called Fat Bastard which is a brown sugar base. I'm thinking the peppercorns will add some sweet heat to the ribs. I have another rub on the opposite from Killer Hogs that's also sweet. I could have added to this mix, maybe next time. I'm glad the door is still open, best of luck And Bruce if you really want to try some send me your address via the communication venue here on KK and I will accommodate. No need to buy, just in case it's not for you
  22. Thanks. I just pulled the trigger,.....WOW your absolutely right, it's gotta be tamed some how. Definitely a science project in the works, don't want to put that on my corn flakes. I think I bought the air dried because it came in a resalable plastic bag and had some trash in it or better put, { little stems and such }. It had too easy of a crunch between my teeth, it broke apart quite easily so placing them in a peppermill is suspect, {at least for me }. The purle look was there when I spit it out or was that my tongue, not sure. I do believe there are possibilities, I may have to reach a little further than I normally do with things but, it will work. Those presents for Xmas Mac are still going out, except they'll have a warning label attached. For you Aussie, well,if I were inclined to go into a bar with a small bag of these and place a few bets I may walk out with a few bucks in my pocket or a little less hair on my head. Only in Australia. Good luck Tekobo and thanks for the direction... Toney Santa could run his sleigh on a few of these
  23. Lowes or Home Depot carry fire starters if that hill is close enough to them. If u really had too, wax and dry wood shavings are something you could make...cheap, but a little smoky.
  24. I think there are a number of possibilities in combing spices to make this peppercorn a workable spice. Used lightly or in a blend as you did, make it practical or at least I hope so. Since I haven't tried to work with this yet, I'm not ready to toss in the towel or offer opinion. I hope this discussion as you requested of me earlier can grow beyond the first impression.
