22 Tons of KK CoCo Char on the water..
Cheesehead_Griller replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in KK Announcements
So I just spoke with Dennis about shipping. The website is quoting $800 for delivery. However, Dennis can do different shipping which brought the cost down to $340. The website is set for shipping grills which have a higher value than charcoal. Either way, if you’re interested in charcoal call Dennis for shipping charges. The website is an accurate. -
Lol. Too funny. I did get the shaft. I was mainly debating between the standard and heavy duty motor. Aside from that, I was just seeing if there are any better options thay others have used or liked.
-
I need a motor for the rotisserie. Any recommendations? Should I just buy the same one Dennis has on his site? I see Amazon has them. Probably a bit faster than the Las Vegas warehouse. Lol.

After reviewing the numbers a bit more last night I think I’m going to pass. -
Use a shop vac and a bag over the filter? I would prefer not to invest in more equipment like a canister. Trying to keep it simple. I have a shop vac but need to know what to get to make it work. Something simple.

I’m neat Green Bay. No problem for me to drive a bit. I know another in SW WI that may also be interested. We could deliver to his house and meet there. -

Anyone near WI interested in doing a bulk purchase? -
Dennis said to finger tighten the top screws then use the bottom smaller screw to "level" the table.

So sorry to hear about your loss. He would be proud of you for following through with your promise. A man of his word. -

Does anyone know what the small screw is for? Oh, and what are these for? Looks like they fit in the side table holes.
-
@David ChangThanks for the pic! I ordered the same fan that you have. Fireboard should be here tomorrow. Fan next week. Grill hopefully in the next few weeks.
-
I have a quick question about the BBQ Guru fans. Do they fit into the port on the KK without need for an adapter. I assume so but I just wanted to very before I place my order.
-
Which tile did you order? I have a 32" that should be here soon. I went with the cobalt blue square tile. This will be my first kamado style grill.
-
@David ChangAwesome, thanks so much for the info.
-
Do you know if the alligator clips can be removed from the Fireboard K probes?
-
Would this fit through the port hole? It may be the determining factor if I buy the Fireboard 2 Pro or Fireboard 2 Drive.
-
If possible, share some pics

Wow, that is one hell of a pizza oven. It's beautiful. The Cobalt Blue square tile KK will look fantastic next to that beast!
-
Congrats! What color and shape tile did you chose? I ordered my 32" BB in November. I went with the blue cobalt square tile. I'm hoping it's delivered by the end of April. (Fingers crossed) This will be my first kamado cooker so I'm looking forward to learning process. I'm stoked. Funny story. Of course, over the past four and a half months I've talked about the KK quite a bit. I've showed my kids photos, asked everyone their preference in tiles, openly discussed accessories to order, etc. At a family birthday party last week my wife and I overhear our four year old daughter telling her 13 year old cousin what we are getting. My daughter proudly states "Luci, we are getting a Komodo Kamado." My wife and I looked at each other and laughed. Needless to say, Luci was puzzled as to what a Komodo Kamado was. It was quite funny. The wait will not only drive you crazy but also those around you. Hahah 😜

Roasting Coffee on the KK with Tritogenia
Cheesehead_Griller replied to David Chang's topic in Techniques
That's very nice! However, I"m trying to avoid buying a roaster of that caliber. I just don't see the ROI. The espresso endeavor has been quite expense and over budget. Similar to the KK. -
Roasting Coffee on the KK with Tritogenia
Cheesehead_Griller replied to David Chang's topic in Techniques
Weight loss is crazy in coffee beans from what I've experienced. I roared coffee beans in a roaster a friend borrowed me for about six months. I was roasting roughly two to three pounds per month. I was ordering green coffee beans as well. I did the math and when I buy roasted beans from the coffee shop I get a full pound of roasted beans. The input weight prior to roasting was probably somewhere between 1 and two pounds. In the end, my friend took his roaster back and I never invested in one. Note, the roaster I was looking at is about $500. I cannot offer input on your beans. I always use the crack to determine the roast. I spoke to Dennis about roasting beens in the KK and he didn't think it was a good idea. He recommended a peanut roaster off of Amazon. I have yet to try it but I may soon. My plan was to roast some beans after I finished a cook on the KK. It would be heat soaked and ready to go. I wonder if I can get a basket like that for my 32. -
