Jasen' date=' hunny... Just how many of those little pills did you take today? Step away from the crayon box, punkin... It's for your own good. [/quote'] What can I say, I am really, really bored. I can only watch so much TV and video games - hehehe. But 3 pills so far - hehehe - feeling very little pain! -=Jasen=-

Oh yeah, I agree that this would not seem to be a normal occurrence. I think it is great you take your customers safety so serious you are going out of your way to make a safety improvement. I mean look at Weber grills; that flimsy little tray under those things are pathetic. If I called them they would be laughing and would probably not give a rip. This area could also fall into the customer responsibility as no flame generating device is really recommended on wooden surface without adequate protection (a grill mat could have helped or definitely tiles laid on top of the wood), but instead of doing tossing that back; you are out to make your grill better. So I applaud that! Just for info, I also had another very simple idea that would be even easier and cheaper. A small, solid clip in door that just gives you a bottom lip. Simple to clip in and leave in, or take out for ash removal. -=Jasen=- Gotta love these mad drawing skills - hahahaha!

What do you mean - low air flow and gas combined? Read through the the couple of pages on this thread! http://www.komodokamado.com/forum/viewt ... c&start=15 -=Jasen=-

ah! You take all the fun outta it - sniff! -=Jasen=-

Re: Oh? Yeah, I forgot to add cannot make comprehensive sentences to that list too. But whose still got the good drugs??? Yeah babby! -=Jasen=-

Hey thanks everyone! All went very well! I cannot believe I am up and about as quick as I am. I cannot sit, stand or walk but for a few as the entry site hurts pretty bad, but they stepped me up to a little stronger drugs for a while, so I think I will manage - hehe! Everything was 100% from what I can tell so far. All feeling come back to my leg and reflexes are back working, so that is A-OK by me!!! Oh yeah, Majesuck, I seem to remember your little girl asking, "Did he kill you again daddy" through the speakers - hahaha. Just bring it again buddy, I got my console hooked up in the bedroom so I am ready for you! Firemonkey, you say you are into Halo2 also? My tag is Drunk3J is you get a chance and can play better than Majestik (I tried to get him to put one of his kids on, I figured any kid under 5 had to be better -hehehe). Thanks again, -=Jasen=-

I think I knew her too? -=Jasen=-

I am kinda surprised Gerard could not recognize the animal. But then again, they usually don't look like that until they leave his office. -=Jasen=-

Well, it looks too lean to be pork and the tail doesn't look very curly. I am guessing lamb? It is kinda hard getting a good reference for the scale of the pic. -=Jasen=-

I think the gas option rocks if it is all working properly. I loved the one on my old grill (and it was so-so), so I am looking forward to the new one! But I will have the low air flow and gas combined and will not remove it (and I have that sweet looking valve with wood handle and SS braided hose to go on it too). -=Jasen=-

Hey Rorkin, I agree with you on having an announcement section as all those stickies and stuff are making it hard to look at the General section. I will add that to the list if Dennis wants it too. I agree on the other stuff too, but the forum is something I can take care of. -=Jasen=-

Re: Preserving The New Look Teak - Stay Away From Teak Oil Cool! That for the good info on teak. I think Dennis might be planning on coating them; but I am sure he would leave them unfinished by request too. Couple of questions on the Rhino Guard, I want a really dark color on mine, can you have it tinted or is it just natural color? Does this have a similar surface to polyurethane? Thanks, -=Jasen=-

Wow, $8 bucks for Cowboy at WallyWorld. We pay around $5 - $6 something here for the 10 lb bags (RoyalOak). Our Walmart only carries Royal Oak (which I prefer) and Lowes, Public and Fresh Market carry Cowboy. One time I looked into getting WickedGood charcoal in and it was not a bad price at all. Might want to give that a looksie ( http://www.wickedgoodcharcoal.com/ ). Oddly enough, it was cheaper shipped from the New England based distribution centers than from the one right here in Georgia - go figure - hehe! -=Jasen=-
-
YES! Now that is what I am talking about!! I can't wait to see this with a nice teak wood top on it!!! -=Jasen=-

I believe the charcoal is gonna burn hotter than gas alone; but the gas can help get the charcoal there pretty quick. I like the Guru method too; a little more work, but mine is all mounted together, so it is simple to plug it into the port and plug it into the power.

Yeah, this will not work for anyone with gas / low air flow combo door, unless you are completely pulling out the door. But this is great for anyone without the gas burner. Now for what I was thinking for people with gas burner. How about making something like a drawer so it covers the bottom and bottom side sections only. Like U channel attached to the draft door at the bottom, below the slide bars. It could be made of screen, perforated metal or solid as the air still pulls in from the top. This would make it one piece instead of two for ease when you wish to dump ashes. Would be easy to make and quick to add to new doors. The only drawback is with doors already out there. -=Jasen=- Oh yeah, just a suggestion to some whom might not have known. If you have a guru, you can just leave the guru fan attached with no probes in use to help get those high temp cooks up there really fast. I just thought it might help those who are removing the draft door completely trying to achieve the same end.

Very nice, and functional, too. Looks to me like it goes in from the inside. I like that it can remain in place and not interfere with the draft door. The downside of that: if you happen to use gas to light up........ That was why asked - if it remains in place, it would be real tough to clean out ashes or use gas burner. So I am hoping it pushes in from the outside. -=Jasen=-
-
Looks good. It pushes in from the outside right? Maybe a handle to pull it back out? -=Jasen=-

Jezz, PB = proportional band! I guess that was some more of that useless info wasted here, huh? -=Jasen=-

Looks delicious! -=Jasen=-

Your gonna get air flow exiting from every location it can as it is pressurizing the KK. That is good, that means it is not free flowing out anywhere greater than the Guru is inputting; so it should be controlling well (let the Guru do the work). I am sure it would probably be more efficient if the Guru fan blew directly on the fire, but after you taste your results; you'll find that the tiny bit more efficiency was probably not worth anything (and it would probably blow ashes everywhere too). The airflow door on the Guru is a manual proportional band adjustment. Basically that means how quick it will control but also how much it will overshoot the setup point (like wave dampening above and below the setpoint or deadband range). So smaller proportional band (Guru door closer to closed) the tighter the dampening around the setpoint, but slower response and larger proportional band (guru door open) the faster it will respond, but larger amount of over/under shoot. So you find your balance between the two (is it better to keep temp more accurate or get it there faster?). On my Guru (ProComm), there is an additional electronic proportional control in the advance menu setup. So I open the Guru door about 3/4 for faster response, but dampen it down by using the electronic proportional band. Hope that helped a little. -=Jasen=- FYI, anyone familiar with the PB terms, note; I reversed there usage to make it less confusing, the point is still the same.

Re: Yeah - and another question... You could make your own silicone plug. It would not be hard to make one with the wire running through it and one for when not using (or make a hole in it to feed the probe/wires through). You could do it on the KK polder hole or even better, make a small mold by drilling the same size hole in a peice of plastic. Another countersunk hole around it would give a lip to grab onto. You will need some kind of release agent (there is one made for silicone or a light grease would work - lard, shortening). Though, from what I understand by most people here is they just don't worry about that small hole. -=Jasen=-

I am sure there are plenty of Sangria recipes out there; but this is my quick and simple recipe for a 3 quart pitcher. - 1.5 liters of you favorite dry red (OK, I am not wasting a good bottle of wine on Sangria so I use Gallo Hearty Burgundy, Syrah or Cab. Sav.) - 8 to 10 ounces of Brandy - top off 3 quart pitcher with Tropicana fruit punch (I have tried other blend and other brands - this one works the best) - optional spice: cinnamon is great and/or clove or nutmeg - optional fruit: canned fruit cocktail or fresh citrus fruits There you go, very quick and easy Sangria
