  1. Bob, he's talking about a ceramic cooker from another manufacturer, who delivers from California or Mexico now. Dennis probably doesn't use Sarasota as a terminal for shipping his KKs, since Lake Wales is already mentioned. Don't forget pictures! We love KK-porn.
  2. Re: Passages... They played the clip on NPR last night during the obit. She reminded them of the opera, Rigoletto, and pointed out that it has murder, rape, incest, and any amount of debauchery, and no one seems to object. It's played all around the world, and is considered "art." Oh, as for my age (and that's a relatively current pic), Gerard is my new best friend. lol
  3. Oh sad. Kitty Carlisle Hart died. My grandparents and I used to watch her on To Tell the Truth. She was 96 - a good long and productive life. I hope she was mostly happy in it.
  4. Re: prime rib The wrapping in towels is so the meat stays warm during the post-cook rest. Towels (dry) are extra insulation. Some wrap in foil and towels and put the meat in a cooler (no ice, of course). Sad to have perfectly done, cold steak, unless that's what you're going for.
  5. I think I'm hyperventilating.... Wow, that's beautiful. :::swoon:::
  6. Wow... nice solution to a customer concern. Fish gotta swim, pigs gotta fly, and ceramic's gotta expand. Good idea! Thanks, Dennis! Got any way to plug up a mud volcano?
  7. I've tried Weggies prepared dough, and it was ok, but I didn't really like it. (Weggies = Wegman's, a grocery chain.) I make the recipe here. Easy, quick, stores well, and tastes wonderful off the ceramic cooker. http://www.wolfgangpuck.com/recipedetai ... =RE_WP0096 My favorite combination - or one of them - is caramelized onions and slivers of cooked beef, with grated cheese and some canned whole tomatoes (drained). I just stir fry the beef in a little fry pan and drain it some before putting it on as a topping. Sometimes seasoned chicken, done the same way. I use Gramma's trick of sprinkling some bread crumbs over the crust before topping it, to absorb the tomato juices and other wet things. Keeps the dough from getting goopy.
  8. Re: cows passing gas increase global warming!! Hehehe... I just saw Spamalot, so that makes sense!
  9. Re: Hey Gerard! I can see you! He's NEKKID!!! Hide yer eyes, kids!!
  10. You eat your duck uncooked, Curly? Wow...
  11. Duck recipes This is probably NOT on ceramic cookers, so will take some modifying (in a good way, to make it even easier). http://www.barbecuen.com/duck.htm Looks interesting.
  12. American Pie was great. Brother Juniper was ok. No Need to Knead is another interesting one, purporting to offer homemade Italian breads in 90 minutes. The Bread Bible will just make you nutty. A basic bread of the sort I've made for years, took TWO DAYS in that book. TWO DAYS!! Lots of fermenting and rising and punching and resting and more rising. And it was no better than the bread in a day that my grandma taught me. There are times that the long ferment is good, but this was just silly. Every bread took a poolish or sponge or pre-ferment. Feh. A long section on sourdough starter, though, so maybe worth a visit to the library to look at it, if you cannot find what you want elsewhere. I'm not so fond of the sourness of a sourdough. I like a ferment, but not so sour. King Arthur Flour has a sourdough starter that's not dried. http://www.kingarthurflour.com/shop/det ... 89&id=1522 There are also dried ones there.
  13. We hijack, then Deej kidnaps it and moves it somewhere else. Feh!
  14. Yah, but Curly got there first! But then he left and went somewhere else.
  15. My dog was born in Tennessee, and (she didn't get to decide) lives with me in NJ. She was a love child. And she still is, because I love her. It's all very confusing, I agree. But mostly the confusion works itself out without my having to interfere. And that's good.
  16. I went to school in VA for 4 years. But that was before now. And there wasn't a KK there, that I know of. And then I didn't live there anymore.
  17. WOW! Beautiful cooker! It looks great outside your house! Excellent choice.
  18. Now that's just mean. Blaming me, when I have a blistered tummy. What's a girl to do?
  19. It's clear - I need a Johnnyboy Apron! Protect my tummy from splatters and such. Maybe get one to match my cooker.
