New 5th Wheel - Reflection 337rls

As you all may have read I got a new truck a little over a week ago. A Ram 3500. Well you can't have a new truck without a new trailer. Today we picked up our new Grand Design, Reflection 337rls 

 

Unfortunately as bad luck would have it I picked up a hitch hiker on the way home from the dealer. My TPMS did it's job and with a few roadside air refills I was able to limp it back home. I'm a little bummed about a ruined brand new Goodyear Endurance.

That is a rather significant upgrade!

Definitely a major upgrade. Mrs skreef is really into all this so I have to give the Mrs what she wants after putting up with me

Really sucks about the brand new tire. Local tire shop will have me fixed up later today. A little screw will not stop this show.

Wow Ckreef.
That trailer makes the truck look small, and it’s a big truck.
A good Tyre guy will be able to plug that, even though it’s close to the wall and tread.

Basher I don’t think they plug tires here in US anymore. They usually patch them from the inside and won’t do anything if is the sidewall.

Hey there Mr Destination Unknown, that's a beautiful ride and the coach must have been like 600 mice with magic. Sorry Bruce, I'd give it a go, it's actually borderline, every plug I've put in always stayed till the tire died...just sayin it would be a shame to let go of a tire like that, but it's not my choice though. So what can you say except, let the good times roll. Have fun

Well with the hole barely on the side wall an inside patch probably would have worked. But with the money spent on the trailer I didn't want to chance it over a $200 tire. 

@Tyrus this time the truck has leather trimmed and full memory seats along with a bunch of other goodies.

That's an amazing "5th Wheel".

We've had caravans for 25 years - great way to holiday with the children, but ours is pretty small - you could almost fit it sideways across yours !

Any chance of a look inside ??

In fact the truck sounds pretty special too.

The last time I didn't specify / seek a tire specialist, the gas station mechanic plugged a Z-rated tire on my old sports car (a 2000 VW GTI VR6, obscure but it gets offers every time it's in the shop). That wrecks the speed rating, not that I was particularly exploring it. Nevertheless, no one should plug a tire, it's not worth the risk unless you're plugging the tire yourself to get home from further away than you trust the spare, and planning to discard the tire as soon as you can. I agree with replacing the tire here.

My truck is almost identical.  Nice choice!  Watch those Firestones.  I’ve had them on 2 Rams and have had to replace them in 2 years both times.  I actually have an appt. tomorrow at 2 pm to have them replaced on this truck.  Beautiful 5th wheel... Congratulations!

I've heard about the Firestones. Hopefully I can get one year out of them and replace them next spring. I have a few more truck and 5th wheel upgrades I want to buy. Plus we need to get camping. New tires just aren't in the budget right now.

Not that I really know what a budget is but I'm trying.

You’ll get at least that out of them.  Congrats again, both truck and trailer are beautiful.
