Fri. I went on a day trip to get some special meat and beer. Came back with both and a combination of the two.

The meat market had beer bacon, the beer was an IPA made by my brew-master friend so I just had to try that.:)

This was  tasty breakfast, ck peach jam, purple crack and beer bacon.

I loved it and actually I did think I could taste the beer hops.

This one is for you Tony. I can't remember what hops were used but I'll ask my friend and see what he says. It has a wonderful aroma though. :)

Tony, that beer was called FLR - Front Line Rocker DIPA. It's an 8% DIPA brewed with 50:50 Citra:Simcoe hops.

The aroma as you put the glass to your mouth is stunning, loved it and the taste. :drinkers:

This was a quick dinner, haddock, fries and fresh tomatoes.

It is that time of year around here, starting to clean out the garden. These are some of today's squash pickings.

I grabbed a quick shot of a poppy that was blowing in the wind at my friend's yesterday.

Needed to make some tartar sauce for dinner.

My tomatoes are just starting to ripen, these slices came from a tomato that weighed almost 1 pound.

Nice looking tomato, MacKenzie.

We're in the middle of a late heat wave here - it's been in the low 90s for almost a week. It's confusing my tomato plants; they're starting to bloom again. Fingers crossed that this second, late batch of tomatoes ripens before we get our first frost.

Tony, the same thing is happening here. I expect it will abruptly end this coming week. I can see a lot of very green tomatoes in my future. :(

No need for a sad face. Turn that frown upside down :) I could eat fried green tomatoes every day of my life.

P.S. I saw another fish cook. I swear someone named @MacKenzie posted it - LOL

Wanted to something differently today so decided to make mac and cheese in the rice cooker. Turned out nice and tasty. Only had white cheese on hand so that is what I used, 2 different cheddars.

For the ribs I just needed to sauce them and warm them up.

Added some crispy onions and set the dish under the broiler for a couple of minutes.

The sauce was one of those leftover sauces that I made but didn't label. :)

Rice Cooker Mac&Cheese

2 C elbow pasta

2 C water

1 t salt

Put in rice cooker set on White rice for 30 mins.

Cheese Sauce

1.5 C cheese (I used a mix of cheeses.)

1 can evaporated milk (370ml)

½ t mustard powder

½ t black pepper

Mix. Add to macaroni and stir. The mac will still be wet, that is OK.

Set cooker for 10 mins. on warm cycle setting. Put into individual serving dishes, sprinkle with bread or cracker crumbs and place under the grill until the desired colour is reached.

A friend asked me to do up some Canadian bacon for him. He brought out 2 pork loins. Here they are on the KK.

I used the KK smoker. It does take me awhile to get it going but once it going it's going!

I can't believe I didn't think to take any sliced pixs. I did cut a thin slice of one of the piece to see what it tasted like. I knew it smelled tasty but just had to make sure before I delivered it.

Made some ketchup today using a recipe CK posted for me. It is quite good I just need to tweak it a little for my taste. It is a keeper.

Tomatoes for ketchup. The bigger tomatoes all weighed 1 pound or just over. :)

Now i needed dinner for the ketchup.

OctoForks for the chicken breasts.
