5698k Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 Two main things, there are eight bolts on the legs of the crate, take them out, the whole crate lifts off, the top of the crate is a ramp for rolling the grill off the pallet. Robert 1 Quote
wilburpan Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 Robert Are you saying that there are uncrating instruction that will be included when the grill is delivered? Here’s a post I wrote when I got and uncrated my KK 23â€. Hopefully this will give you an idea of what to expect. http://komodokamadoforum.com/topic/5007-my-ordering-and-unpacking-experience-with-a-kk-23â€-ultimate/ Quote

tony b Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 Fingers crossed that tomorrow is actually the big day for you MacKenzie! We're all just about as excited as you are! 1 Quote
MacKenzie Posted July 20, 2015 Author Report Posted July 20, 2015 Tony, I think it is going to be the BIG day, I plan on going into the shipper in the morning and have it arranged that my carpenter comes with his truck and they load the grill onto that and then he drives to my house over the lawn and down to the deck stairs. We set up planks and roll it from the back of the truck and onto the deck. We may be able to slide it crated but if not I think we can uncrate on the truck and then roll it. In my mind it works perfectly, ask me tomorrow how it actually went:) Forecast is for rain all day, I just hope I can get some pixs of the process. Stay tuned:) Quote
tinyfish Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 Everyone here will be hoping for sunshine for you. Between you and your carpenter you will find a way. Worst case you have to buy the pick up and leave the Kk in the pickup for good...lol. Quote
MacKenzie Posted July 20, 2015 Author Report Posted July 20, 2015 Now there's an idea. I could roll into town at lunch time and sell the best cheese burgers ever. Before you know it I'd have the money for a wood fired pizza oven or a second KK. Quote

ckreef Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 Rain ain't going to hurt the KK. You and your carpenter might get a little wet but the KK won't care. Looking forward to the big day rainey pictures. Quote

MacKenzie Posted July 20, 2015 Author Report Posted July 20, 2015 OK, I'll give you a teaser- Meet Pebbles Tired as I was I wanted to fire Pebbles up and so I did:) A couple of chicken sausages went on the grill at 275F until internal temp. was 180F. Simple but tasty:) I will write my story up once I get more relaxed:) This grill is absolutely awesome and it arrived in perfect condition. I'm so happy Right now I'm in the middle of off gassing:) Quote
5698k Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 Beautiful!! Be gentle with the venting, once you smell the odor, keep it at that temp for as long as you care to, it'll do the trick. You're about to have a boat load of cooking fun!!! Robert Quote
CeramicChef Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 MacKenzie - what a lovely KK! Kinda reminds me of my 19" Hi Cap, Beauty! That's a beautiful color on Pebbles! Congrats, congrats, congrats! Quote
