Desparate for Quick Dinner

Recommended Posts

I over worked today and didn't have the energy to do much for dinner this evening so sat in my chair while the KK cooked some chicken sausages very slowly. Temp. was about 275-300F. Near the end did some fries. The sausage were very moist and tasty.

Looks like a winner dinner to me. Those fries weren't done on Pebbles, were they? If so, how did you get them so golden and crispy looking?

No, Poochie, they were deep fried frozen fries;)

Thanks heaps everyone:)

I didn't do the fries on the KK, that's living dangerously for me, they were done in de Buyer pan on top of the gas stove;)

Yes, I made the sausages and that was the last of them so I need to put that on the to-do list;)

MacKenzie, that's one beautiful sausage. What did you use for the fat you mixed in?

I believe I only used chicken thighs so lots of fat there. That was the first batch I made but I will do more:)

Thanks, MacKenzie! All these great sausage pics and cooks you've posted have about convinced me that I need to look into making sausage. I'm thinking I'm off to Amazon for sausage books.

Tony - you're killing me! You're aiding and abetting the draining of my bank account. The books are the cheap part! Now I have to go buy a grinder, a sausage funnel, casings , etc. I figure that first sausage is gonna set me back about $450! Of course, after that it's all marginal costing, but still ....

Thanks for the pointers. Those look like good starters for me.

Paybacks are hell, aren't they!
