First Deep Dish Pizza

Recommended Posts

Posted

Here we go, just winging this pizza cook. It is my first deep dish one.

Used my regular pizza dough but fit it into a cast iron frying pan.

Dressed it up with olives, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, fresh fennel, sweet red peppers, and Monterey Jack cheese as well as parmesan and a drizzle of olive oil.

MacK, I'm not a deep dish fan but you put such a tantalizing spin on it I think I'm going to need to try it.   Dennis needs to create a forum just for you and your cooks!

Thanks everyone.:) dstr8, I've never been a fan either but I'll have to admit this one was tasty and crust was light which I liked. I better do a write up before I forget what I did.

That looks so sweet, it would make any Chicago deep dish pizza joint jealous. My wife and daughter just got back from a trip to Rome, this looks like one of the pizzas they enjoyed.

Yes look s fabulous- I think the real deep dish (the commercial ones) are horrid fat deposits for cheap cheese - this on the other hand is a completely different league, inspirational...
