  1. Pork butt here last night - 8.5hrs at 300F, hickory pellets in the KK smoker attachment, homemade rub. Served in fluffy white buns, with coleslaw, and salads, pickles and sauces on the side… rack of ribs for a pre dinner snack.

  2. A man is stranded on an island for 10 years. One day a beautiful girl swims to shore in a wetsuit. Man: "Hi! I am so happy to see you." Girl: "Hi! It seems like you've been here a long time. How long has it been since you've had a cigarette?" Man: "It's been 10 years!" With this information, the girl unzips a slot on the arm of her wet suit and gives the man a cigarette. Man: "Thank you so much!" Girl: "So tell me how long has it been since you had a drink?" Man: "It's been 10 years!" The girl unzips another pocket on her wet suit and comes out with a flask of whisky and gives the man a drink. Man: "Thank you so much. You are like a miracle!" Girl (starting to slowly unzip the front of her wet suit): "So tell me then, how long has it been since you played around?" Man: "Oh, my God, don't tell me you've got a set of golf clubs in there, too!..

  3. Once I got a Breeo smokeless insert for my firepit, I realized there’s no such thing as being set for wood. That would be gone in a couple months at most😁 Despite what my wife may say, theres no such thing as too much wood. FIREWOOD! As a bonus I haven’t bought lump in a long time. I harvest coals to fill the grills when I’m done with the fire.

  4. I live in Iowa and we get pretty damn cold here in the middle of winter, but I still cook. My only temperature cutoff is not because of the KK, but because of ME! When the windchill hits negative numbers, I don't cook outside. I've cooked during snowstorms, as long as the temps stay above zero, I'm good.

  6. My Local QFC grocery (Kroger) carries Snake River Farms meats. It's awesome when they toss them into the bargain bin! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Winner, winner chicken dinner with a Mediterranean slaw of Balsamic, cheese and crunchies, TaeTa Tots and sliced cukes dressed in Apple cider vin, Franks red hot a shot of lime and some salt..yum. Let them soak in the frig for an hour. And if you wondering what happened to the trees taken down, here's about 25%

  8. Spare ribs on the big grill over hickory. I haven't grilled ribs in over a decade but it was a nice change from smoking them. So good i ate a whole rack and then felt miserable. Also baked some sweet potatoes down in the coals. PXL_20230929_175423483.TS.mp4

  10. I agree. I'm in the mayo/aioli camp for fries. There are some commercial ketchups that aren't overly sweet (Trader Joe's Organic or Sir Kensington (is a bit high on the salt though), or just whip up you own.

  12. Here's a typical appearance, nearly done. One wants the fire to be well on its way to spent, so the walls of the KK are cooking by radiant heat. The skin color isn't as dramatic as other pics here, but this is everyday food for us. We don't eat the skin, or maybe we sneak a bit. What matters is the texture of the meat.
