  1. DJ, Just had a thought on your mod, will you have enough room to use the EZQ with it in place? It would give a spot to do some taters or something at the same time......
  2. Yeah, what's the contraption in the basket that holds the lump to the side?
  3. I think Dennis has his own version, perhaps not out of R&D.
  4. +1 on never having used the trap door. The time I had to add lump (my first cook) I took everything out @ 2AM, trap door be damned. I would also like to have the lower grill completely covered (or a trap door at the very least). I use it almost exclusively for higher temp grilling, and it cuts down on usable area. Not to mention some exciting times when a kabob gets near the edge. So I'll say it again 45 degrees, just ask if the user is left or right handed!
  5. Re: Come to Bali for a week of R&R Certainly appears to be a flash picture to me.....
  6. Much better. May I suggest about 4 pictures with only 2 rows or so per pic. That way the flash would hit them more or less the same. The rows on the sides are under lit and may not faithfully represent.
  7. I'm thinking at a 45, then either everyone is happy, or everyone is ticked. I have never really given it much thought, however, I will say that Grill-flossing would be easier with the orientation front-rear.
  8. forearm forklifts work pretty well if you strip it (remove lid and innards). Perhaps you wouldn't need to strip it if you were a bigger fella, and had a big friend.
  9. Perhaps I should have said 'higher priced', it's only $7 less than the club before you start with all the mods. Don't misunderstand me, it's certainly a nice set up, but lets be honest, how many people can do this themselves? Besides, the GC is also a: Grill Cleaner, Grid Lifter, Ash Tool, Fire Tool Howz bout that!
  10. Nice work, but it's turning into an over-engineered, over-priced Golf Club! DOH!
  11. With the G-Club, you hang the bottle on the edge of the grill, so the rubber hose allows you to position the flame where you need it. It also comes slides apart for easy storage in a small space. The item you reference looks like it might work ok if the tube was about half as long.... and then there is the storage Maybe you should call Fred and ask for one to "evaluate".
  12. Conodo12, I have the golf club and I like it. I have not yet used it to light up for a low and slow, I think the MAPP gas torch alone will be best for that. For high(er) temp grilling I like being able to jam it into the lump pile and let it rip away. I have the KK gas burner but don't really care for it, the club is easier. As far as the other listed "uses" for the Golf Club..... well it works great for lighting lump. 4 stars
  13. Dennis has a better illustration than I did. http://www.komodokamado.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1948
  14. Dude, (JB), if you will be leaving that rug there, you can get away with anything. That will break up the opening and set you free! Badda Bing!
  15. This winter when it hasn't been ice, it's been snow. We haven't missed many! I'll take the snow, it usually doesn't make the power go out!
  16. Re: How long should I cook an 9 pound butt? Do tell...
  17. Nice Tuck, what size basket are we looking at there 8"?
  18. Add my condolences too. Didn't realize who your father was, I guess no reason I would have known, but I think I "knew" your grandfather better.
  19. Okay, who's gonna tell him ya don't need no basting or foil in a KK?
  20. I'm another in the camp of having never seen one, or anything like it, other than a BGE in a store before the order. I've been a happy camper for over 1 year now and even the wife is a fan! Some of the best money I've ever spent!! With an ice storm warning and a potential of 1" of ice on the way for late today, it may become our only cooking source for a few days.
