  1. This was a meatless rib dinner, can't believe the lack of meat on these ribs, that's what happens when you buy a grab bag. At least the Punjabi Style Beetroot was good, it's a recipe that started from tekobo.

  4. Just finished slicing, vacuum sealing and putting the bacon into the freezer. Did a small taste test and maybe I should rethink about giving any of this batch away, just kidding. The carpenter is coming this evening to fetch his bacon. I just heated up a very small piece and it was pretty darn good. I'll take a pix the next time I cook some up.
  5. It is funny how all the parcels that you are excited about receiving end up at the post office after delivery hours are over for the week.
  6. It's not a race, enjoy the journey, as much as possible under the conditions. You soon will be in a situation where you will have time to enjoy the KK.

  8. Cured and smoked a pork belly, 1/2 for my carpenter and 1/2 for me. Did a couple of hours of cold smoke using the cold smoker then moved things over to the bigger KK and hot smoked then until the IT was 145F. We will slice the slabs up tomorrow.

  11. tekobo, dinner certainly looks extra tasty, I can just imagine what fun you had today, everyone needs one of those days every so often.
  12. Steve, just because it is you I'll let the cat out of the bag. I am going out to dinner at friends' this evening and I'm going to surprise them with vanilla bean ice cream. The recipe calls for 6 egg yolks, now the problem is what do I do with 6 egg whites. ?!?

  18. Have not made stuffed peppers in a long time but needed to change that today. Started the day off with baked egg in a pepper. Moved onto stuffed peppers. Ready to eat. Guess what I am making with these?
  19. Tekobo, to answer your question, NO. I also read a lot of reviews and like you very often use that same idea - I'll try it out myself. There weren't enough reviews on the UK site to allow me to judge and the book here is $45 and space is limited. I'd like to see the recipes to help me decide. If 80% are fish or internal organs recipes it probably isn't going to work for me. If I get 2 or 3 great recipes I'd consist it a winner.

  23. When you start cooking on a KK you will see a world of difference in the taste of the food you cook compared to your other grills. The taste will move to the next level.
